ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (EVENTS): MIDI track name event must appear at 1:1:000; found track name ‘[crowd_normal]’ at 20:1:000
Hey. I’m having this issue (or one similar) on a few of my files right now. One of them did not have it before.
I went back to finish my drums for Rush – Halo Effect, and now I’m getting this error. Well, actually, I was getting (DRUMS) saying that I did not have PART DRUMS a 1:1 but I did? So after messing around with things that shouldn’t matter it fixed, but now I’m getting it from the events track. I have another file which has this same issue for Drums again.
If I moved the PART DRUMS off of 1:1:000, I could get an error “Found PART DRUMS at ” so I know it was typed correctly and reading right. But when I move it back to 1:1:000, it throws the error and tells me a next “text” event (such as above).
I was using the drums as an example, but its the same problem in this except with the Events track (but, again, EVENTS it sitting right at 1:1:000 [checked in the properties as well]). Can someone take look at tell me what got messed up or switched around or whatever. I feel this is a stupid issue but I cannot find it.
Thanks.

Most of the times Magma errors are just spot on: you have [crowd_normal] as a track name and not a text event, hence the error.
Ah yes, thank you.
I never really realized the difference in the dropdown menu for text events (kind of confused me). It would appear some of them went under “Track Name”.

Lyrics is for lyrics, Track name is for “PART …”, Text event is for everything else.
