My vocal charting skills are…well, not good. i cant seem to find the right pitches for songs and it grows increasingly frustrating when you sing and your cursor doesnt line up, and ya gotta keep having to go back and forth from the laptop to the xbox and back. so i normally just make the vocals all talkie-parts so that theres still lip sync for the characters and thats it.

 

Im growing a little more confident with vocals, i still wouldnt play expert on my vocal charts though. lol

just tried the rihanna song vocals and they are playable but i think you are right some parts of the song may not have the correct pitch. since i haven’t chart anything i can’t complain and i’m just glad the song is available, so THANK YOU!

Notes: When i did this song, i wasnt sure how to do harmonies (kept getting the error about there being 3 vocals charted but none found) so i only did the lead. and its not perfect. but its playable ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

 

I might have a fix for this:

 

Check that your Harmony part’s track name is HARM1, HARM2 and HARM3 respectively instead of PART HARM1, PART HARM2 and PART HARM3. A lot of templates tend to have this error in it. Then make sure to change the song ID in Magma and the file name of the CON when you try to reimport it into your game. That helped me when I bumped into this problem long ago.

 

Also you should download our program LeFluffieC3 from the authoring tools subforum, there you can make cool little vizual cards to represent your songs that show the album art, difficulty ratings and such and it looks much better than plain text

i found out like…3 weeks ago o_o But i finished S&M about 2 months ago or so. Ive only added harmonies to dark of the night, gimme more, and WAs gonna add some to applause. but Ive procrastinated. a lot.

 

and i think i do have that! Thats the program that lets you dissect .con file songs and get their .midi and stuff, right? If it is, i think i downloaded it a little while back because i really wanted to add keys to some official harmonix songs (Bulletproof, namely)

I will definitely look into that though. i had wanted to use a picture i was working on to represent all that, but im no computer artist either.

i don’t know about any rule about not publishing what you are working on, unless you have intentions to release them via C3, which would be great since may help get the songs polished and include all the bells and whistles.

I also wondered, i found Clarity’s multitracks, but they seem at different speeds. the vocals are closer to the normal. but the piano is like…slower, like the bpm of the pianos different than the vocal and normal song. is there a way to fix that? Itd suck to have the multitracks, but not be able to incorporate em

Regarding vocals, have you tried looking up already existing midis of songs you’re doing? I’ve found it as a good starting point to get you in the right direction. They’re not always great, but it’s better than nothing.

 

Anyways, nice to see someone doing pop hits. They’re not my favorite, but a lot of people I play with would enjoy it. I would like to see some ‘rockish’ Gaga songs. Speechless, The Edge of Glory, You and I, all would be great for the game. Awesome that you have stems too!

Nu-uh ive never actually done that before. Your right though, id imagine the parts theyd get right would be good places to begin with and start sorting through the not-so-accurate parts.

I understand your troubles with vocals. I’ve done 3 songs now, two of them were rap songs with almost all talkies, and the other was Michael f’ing Jackson. I managed to crank out a decent vocal chart (with the help of a midi), but I couldn’t even touch the backing vox on that one.

It’s okay to list stuff that is, say, actively being worked on, but the intent of that rule is to avoid the people that start a thread and list 60 songs they’re “going to do” only to vanish after doing half a chart and discovering how hard it is.

Thanks for the good work so far, it’s always nice to see new multitrack songs being worked on/added.

 

Just an observation: for applause and S&M you have the whole song mapped to the backing track. So in otherwords the song plays no matter what making the separate track stems kinda pointless. Anyways its a easy fix….

 

For example: I took applause and removed the backing track and *poof* properly working multitrack

Out of curiosity, can you say what those “MLP Rarity” and “MLP Twilight” songs are? They might already have full Expert band charts depending on what songs they are
