Song I’m working on has a definite disco flip chart on expert, for every other difficulty though, the chart is easier played standard handed. If I add the event “[mix 3 drums0d]” to it, will it disco flip for every difficulty on standard drums?
February 2, 2015 at 3:17 am #437553no, that’s what the “mix 3” is I believe.
mix 0-3 are the difficulties if I recall directly (it’s in the documents). You are only supposed to chart the expert with a disco anyways so we just use that.
When reducing, you chart it as a standard beat (including the hi hat on the snare even if it is not there).
February 2, 2015 at 7:20 am #437563Hm ok! So if I chuck on the mix 3 marker, and chart the expert chart with red as hihats and yellow as snare that’ll all work fine after export?
February 2, 2015 at 1:12 pm #437569Adding in the [mix 3 drums0d] will trigger disco flip start there until the track reaches a [mix 3 drums0] (which you use to turn it off).
When charting discoflip, yes you chart the hihat to the red, and the snare to the yellow. The RBN Preview that comes in the C3 package will display this when previewing, so you you can test and make sure it works right. Note, you have to start the preview window before that text trigger or it won’t render the preview correct.
If you are having any issues with this, PM me the .rpp and I can take a look at set it up for you.

There an photo from something I’m working on using the disco flip mechanic. Place the drums0d on the note you want it to start, and the drums0 on a note after you want it to end. You then chart hard using a “standard rock beat” (including the hi hat on the snare), and reduce from there.

February 2, 2015 at 8:15 pm #437603All done. Easy enough. Thanks guys!
February 2, 2015 at 8:16 pm #437604Short version: [mix 3 drums0d] only flips the Expert chart, and you should never flip the lower difficulties to begin with if you want to stay within the rules of the authoring docs and instead chart them as rock beats in the reductions

This track is all properly charted for lower difficulties, I was just initially worried that placing the marker would flip the stuff I’d charted for EMH. Happy to see that it doesn’t!
