I drop the media file into Reaper but when I try re-position the file to measure 3.1.0 ,instead of simply moving the file , Reaper copies the file and places the copy at the ‘dropped’ location.
(…not too sure how I enabled this option in the first place because I never have too much reason to go into change the preferences in any event)
Which preferences option will return Reaper to its default action of simply moving the file when dragged….?
Thanks in advance.
That’s weird… are you sure you don’t have 2 copies already, and when you’re moving one the second stays in place?
No – it definitely duplicates the file (perhaps not physically – but in Reaper it replicates it…)
So when I play back I hear both copies playing…!
I have managed a workaround in the meantime – I can extend the length of the file and MOVE (using the Alt key and mouse selection) to drag the audio to the required position) – however, I would like to reinstate the default drag mode though…
