[update]
Journey – Open Arms:
– Added Open Arms to Ready section
– Submission information can be found on the original post
Journey – Wheel in the Sky
http://www.mediafire.com/download/t1t5w … nly%29.zip
That is the link for the tempo map’d file. I’m also going to PM Nyx at let him know it’s ready. If any other authors would like to chart anything, feel free to pick up and let me know. I’m going to start the drums (with Nyx doing vocals), and then start the others after if no one picks up an instrument).
If anyone sees an issue with the tempo map, please either let me know (or fix yourself) so we can get everyone’s file up to date, so they can be less issues down the road. Also note, I have no rendered the audio file yet, and it is still in .mp3 + count-in form. There is a fade out that needs to be addressed, so I figured we should agree how to handle it.
January 16, 2015 at 1:58 pm #436346Wheel in the Sky:
– Drums and Bass completed
– Guitar is WIP
– Keys, I honestly will likely struggle with as they’re only a handful of obvious keyboard notes audibly, and I’ve yet to find decent material online for reference. I do believe there are keys here, but it’s likely melodic sustains or synth work in the background. I could be wrong.
I know I talked about a Journey pack in the future (once Faithfully get’s keys, Open Arms gets reviewed and corrected, and Wheel gets finished), but I was curious if you were open to the idea having more Journey songs charted and making it a larger pack such as 4 or 6?
Honestly, I enjoy Journey and would love adding more, but if there was any time issues it’s not problem; I was just curious. I was thinking to get in contact with user Gep who recently created a Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin’ chart. I had been helping him with Tempo Map / Magma errors, and know his charts need some work. He could bring his to the Show Floor and be worked on for a C3 release addition to this? Just spit balling ideas.
Feeling That Way / Anytime
Lights
Mother, Father
Stone in Love
I’d be alright starting those up down the road (after these 3 are done) if that sounds good? More so, if they have not been start by another user . If any of you would like to see those started I’d be happy to add them in!

7th grade, here I come!
January 16, 2015 at 2:28 pm #436349That’s honestly the one I was thinking about starting next, so yay ha.
In terms of the song; I know technically they are two different songs, but it’s fine to chart them together like most radio stations play right? Or should I do a file for each and then combine them for a file as well?

Sure. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

Sadly, I know. Keys are one of the biggest draws in that song, and it would be an absolute crime for it to be released without them.
Like I said when originally doing it, I have a baseline chart finished up for it, but that’s just the version I learned. It has some vocal harmony added it (meant to be played solo), which is why the chart is very off in places. There are a lot of sections with subtle piano variations that can JUST be heard. I can play piano, but I’m not always great at pulling away notes from simply hearing.
I’ve just been pushing that chart off in hopes a skilled keyboard charter would pick it up ha
Honestly, I’ll probably start working on it again after I’m finished with Wheel/Open Arms (possibly after Feeling as well). Just have a lot of my plate at the moment and splitting time between things while still keeping interest is a huge thing lol.
I still have to finish up the drums for Clockwork Angels in a final update. I keep pushing that off as well ha.

Current Projects
##################
Journey: Wheel in the Sky
– Drums / Guitar / Bass finished
– Nyx seems to have download the file (seen from download count), so I’ll wait to hear back on when he gets time to work on the vocals
– Piano is something I’ve very unclear of. There are a few distinct sections where you can make out piano, but I’m not sure where else there is, or even if I can hear it (it could always be me). There is little help online as most tabs/sheet music/midis have no piano/synth listed, so this could be a complication. Anyone willing to take a look would be a huge help.
Journey: Open Arms
– Looking to be picked up / reviewed
– Reductions + 5-Lane Keys on pause until Expert charts are reviewed
– Vocals are pitched + lyric’d, tube lengths not set yet (waiting to make sure slides and such are correct first)
– Reductions + 5-Lane + Vocal tubes + Overdrive are all things I*** will do after review (I’m not trying to give off the impression that I’m attempting to pass those off to someone else).
Journey: Faithfully
– I’ve given this file out to some people over the previous holiday season for play test, and I’ve heard back no major complains. While the notes may not be 100% accurate yet, the Drums/Guitar/Bass/Vocals seem to be very playable and enjoyable.
– I’ve narrowed the Piano issues down to 12 measures throughout the song where I’m going to have to basically chart by hand. During this second, the piano is not to highly prominent, so this will likely take some time to adjust, figure, and such. If there is ANYONE skilled a piano charting that wishes to help, that would be fantastic. I have some downtime again and I’m going to try and work them out, but it’s not something that is likely to come easy and could take some time.
Future Projects
################
Journey: Feeling That Way + Anytime
– I will start this project after more progress has been made on my 3 current Journey projects (Faithfully, Open Arms, Wheel in the Sky). I have some existing projects that I’m looking to work on until then. Once we get those 3 generally up to par, I’ll start this (unless Nyx who wanted vocals [or anyone else for instruments] would like to start before then and I can tempo map it out).
C3 Projects
#############
Cheap Trick: The Flame
– Final process for C3 release
– Far messaged me and once he has his last batch of fix requests, I’ll get those done and resubmitted for a final submission ASAP (originally, he wanted a Feb release if possible).
Existing WIP Updates
####################
Jackson Browne: The Load Out + Stay
– Drums/Bass/Vocals finished (credit to Dash Riprock for Vocals + Harms)
– Piano/Guitar has been started
Five for Fighting:100 Years
– Drums / Bass / Vocals finished (credit to ejthedj for Vocals)
– Piano Pro_X is charted, I’m doing general checks and tweaks now
– Guitar not started (I’m having trouble hearing + charting)
January 23, 2015 at 12:20 pm #436831The Flame is in playtesting. Couple of quick notes:
– Never use the backing audio for all instrument’s tracks. It will make the volume incredibly loud, it will create issues whenever a player plays an OD activation drums fill or use the whammy bar and the CON file will be huge in size. Use mute audio files for every instrument except for backing.
– Dryvox needs be to 16 KHz, 16-bit, mono.
Release date is February 6th, it’s gonna be one of the highlights of the singles week. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

I thought that I was doing that (assuming you are using my existing .rbproj)? For me, it’s showing the instrument audios as:
Drum: audiostereo44_24.wav
Bass: audiostereo44_24.wav
Guitar: audiostereo44_24.wav
Keys: audiostereo44_24.wav
Vocals: audiostereo44_24.wav
Dry Vocals: theFlame_dryvox.wav
Backing: The Flame.wav
Am I not supposed to use the stereo44 files? I assumed those were the blank files Magma uses.
– Dryvox needs be to 16 KHz, 16-bit, mono.Alright. That is something I had another user do so I never thought to look. Is this something that you’d like me* to do and reupdate, or are you taking care of it? If I am, I just need to re-render the dryvox file I already have using those settings, and then change the stereo44_24’s to stereo44’s correct?

Last time we talked in a PM, you stated that there was still some last changes you wanted me to make. Are you giving me those after playtesting is mostly complete? Just curious. I’ll have them done with a quick turnaround once I get them. Thanks.

Weird, my bad then, I must have misread the data.

Done it myself, I just rerendered with those specifications the dry vox file.

I have probably made them myself because I don’t remember them. We’ll see what comes up after playtesting and take it from there.
January 23, 2015 at 1:45 pm #436840Alright, sounds great.
Only thing I can think of off hand is some concerns based on the added HARM2 part:
– I never had a dryvox created for that. Did you take care of that?
– HARM specific text events. I’m not really knowledge strong with vocals, so were there any text stuff that had to happen in conjuncture with the added Harmony? I know it defaults to another character to sing it (I believe bass?) but did not know if anything had to be turned on/off to make it look better.

You’re stuck with the wrong guy here, I basically never bother with cuts and such, animations are not something I’m interested in, but you got plenty of time to ask for directions if you want to polish that aspect before release. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
January 23, 2015 at 2:09 pm #436842Eh, not a huge concern for me either. Personally, if I was to start cuts/ect, then I would have to 100% follow through and make a fully custom one; which I’m not to concerned about doing.
I was more so just making sure there was not anything mandatory that needed to happen with the addition of Harmony parts (outside of game mechanical functionality/play-ability).
January 28, 2015 at 1:45 am #437183Feedback from PT:
Guitar
The first part of the principle riff (M3, M7, M11, etc) should go G->R->YB->R->YB—>R->YB—>R->YB—. The first green in each of those spots sounds lower than the second.
M15.1: Missing note.
M36.1: This is just one long sustained note. Repeats in other choruses.
M39.1: This is just one long sustained note. Repeats in other choruses.
M40-44: I’m sure all of these notes are chords. Repeats in other choruses.
M44.2.25: Pretty sure this note should be cut. Repeats in other choruses.
M45: I think the notes should go on x.1, x.1.5 (sustain), x.2.5 (sustain), x.4 (sustain). Repeats in other choruses.
M85.1.5: These chords should just be red notes, save for M86.2 being green.
M89.1.5: These chords should just be red notes.
M90.1: This GR should just be a HO/PO’d yellow.
January 28, 2015 at 1:16 pm #437205Did you ever end up making any little changes that you said you may get to? If so, can I get your copy of the .rpp so I can make these to the updated version? Otherwise let me know and I’ll touch it up today with these fixes.
Also, I notice it just says guitar. Are these the only changes, or are these only the ones gotten to yet? Just curious.
Addition:
I notice you want to make the M40-M43 notes into chords. I agree, but if these are bring made into chords, I think I need to makes the BO chords on M44-45 into YBO then. Those notes are audibly more pronounced and “bigger” (which is why they were BO while the previous was just . Would that work? I’ll make the update so you can see how it looks after.
