Can anyone tell me how to do it? Im a total greenhorn with this, im not trying to make my own custom songs. I only want to make reductions for the songs that are already made by other people. Ive already tried opening the notes.mid file in reaper but no matter at what i click in CAT i get an empty window, no reaction or the CAT window closing and no other reaction happening.

    CAT Manual:

    Guitar/Bass authoring & reductions:

Be sure you follow the Python installation process exactly.

First of all it seems you did not even bother to read what ive said, i dont want to do my own custom songs but just do reductions of existing songs authored by other ppl but who did not include other difficulties than expert. Also ive already read both of those before ive downloaded and installed anything at all, i did it multiple times, i have REAPER 4.22 and Python 2.7 and the CAT tools, and it loads em but than does nothing more after clicking on any of the options in the CAT window. Also its not like i installed Python icorrectly cause i use it almost nonstop with GIMP and it works perfectly fine. Ive read both of em right now again and i still dont see any answer to why the CAT main window loads but does not load any functions, especially since REAPER properly recognises Python and can use any other Python script ive tried, other than CAT.

You’re the one asking for help on a subject that is clearly not for beginners.

You don’t get a silencer for a gun without first knowing how to fire the gun itself. The silencer makes it quieter, and CAT makes it easier. But you still need to know what it is you need in the end. You need to know how to use the gun, which in this messed up metaphor means you need to know how to author, at least on a basic level.

So you need to be well acquainted with the documents that he linked you to.

      More importantly,

The answers are there, like he says. But if you can’t find the solution to your problem, the correct course of action is not to make a separate thread, but to go into the CAT thread, read through the past posts, as most issues, and specially, this issue, have already been covered there.

If you have checked all common mistakes/issues listed in the CAT thread, please post there: it really sounds like you are not using the C3 template from the sound of it but if, as you said, you read all the documentation and checked that you’re doing things correctly and it still doesn’t work we’ll figure out what’s causing CAT to fail.

Got to the main point of the problem by trying to start the reduce5lane.py script alone, seems there where some errors with the naming of tracks and with the ticks per beat. The song was working okay in PhaseShift so i thought its made correctly, my assupmtion was incorrect, ive used the C3 Template and used copy/paste, now the reduction works but only after i delete all other unused tracks especially the count track.

But this way the whole song got out of sync, ive tried resyncing by loading a new track with the ogg file to resync it perfectly, but in the game it is still out of sync.

Make sure you are dropping the audio at 1.1.0, merging the tempo map at 1.1.0 only once when you import the Phase Shift midi, then copy/paste the midi notes to exactly the same beat as it lined up in the source. If it is out of sync when you do this, it may be that the tempo map is not good enough for Rock Band’s timing window.

If it’s only off by the same delay for the whole song, zoom in on the audio, turn off snap, and drag the entire audio clip until it lines up with the first note.

Nah done this song already, it did not have a BPM stamp, so REAPER was taking it as a 120BPM file making it around 1:30 shorter than it was supposed to be.

Currently i have a problem with ticks per beat, even with RBN plugins installed it still loads the midi as is. The properties say its 100 ticks per beat and i have no clue what to do next. The other song was easier as the ticks where set properly, here they are not. This is more like a rollercoaster ride now.
