I just started getting the disc unreadable error for all of my custom songs. Checked the hard drive, and there is no TU #5 installed, and deleted and replaced TU #4 on to my flash drive. Only thing I could think would be the problem is a scratched disc, but all on disc songs work fine as well as official DLC.
This occurs as soon as I choose difficulty and starts loading the song. All songs preview fine on the selection screen. This began after I started the game up and suddenly all my save data and scores for the custom songs had gone away.
My issue wasn’t exactly the same, but I had actually scratched discs (ring on one and another had a cut). I was able to install the game (it was base game with no TU5) to my flash drive while offline. They added that feature with an update between when I started playing customs (2 1/2 years ago?) and when I redid all of them a year or so ago.
Anyway, it will play the game off the flash drive. So it may be able to work for you? I’d also suggest trying to install it to the hard drive on the Xbox. I’m not sure why I didn’t do that… but it works fine playing off my flash drive
Sure sounds like you have TU5 installed. While inside the game, can you play online? Can you load the music store? Can you see leaderboards?
It could also be that you’re using one of the “Madcats” discs, which comes pre-installed with TU5. Does the box for the game include a Madcats logo, or does it have an EA logo? If it’s got a Madcats logo, that’s one of the discs with TU5 on it, and unfortunately it won’t work with customs no matter what you do.
I’ve been playing customs for the last 6 months or so, and haven’t had any problems. This JUST started popping up yesterday. I pull the ethernet every time I play.
It’s one of two things: 1) you have TU5 installed or 2) you have a scratched disc. Only you can determine which one it is.
It would have to be the disc then. TU5 doesn’t show up at all in the RB3 storage.
A lot of people forget that it could be on more than one location. Are you sure it’s not under internal storage? hard drive? usb? You never answered my questions about whether you had internet connectivity at all. Leave the ethernet cable plugged in before you boot the game. Does it ask you to update the game? If it doesn’t, you already have TU5.
Two times I took my game to the local record store where they resurface discs for 1$ but the thid time I had tu5 installed.
