Customs working but not regular songs

Hey Everyone, New to the customs community but really excited about it. Followed the instructions to revert my RB3 to Patch 4 and created a USB for customs. No problem playing the customs. However, I cant play any of the regular Rockband songs. When I remove the USB and update to Patch 5 I can play all the old songs, but obviously not the customs. I created just a generic “Player 1” profile to use with customs so it wont try and login to XBOX live. I have no need for XBOX live with RB, so hopefully that will help in suggestions as I don’t need to have dual profiles like many of the instructions suggested. I’d just like to be able to access all my songs, regular and custom, at the same time. THANKS!
Yes. I downloaded most of my DLC about 2yrs ago on a different xbox. That one stopped being able to handle RB so I gave it up for a while. Got a new xbox a couple weeks ago, transferred the content and licenses to the new xbox and then started getting into customs.

Also, I had transferred all of Green Day and RB1&2, and it doesnt seem like those are working either
Well, hold on. Why would I need to re-download if the songs work when I update to Patch 5 and use my original gamertag, but dont work when i revert to Patch 4 and use the non-Live gamertag?
Ugh. I’m sure I can figure out how to do that, but any suggestions to make it easier?Do it all from the PC.
Would transferring my DLC from my HDD to the USB with customs make a difference?No. It needs to be re-downloaded, so it’s signed for your new xbox. Nothing to do with customs really.
I guess i’m still a little unclear. All of my DLC works when I login using my XBOX Live gamertag. Obviously I have to update to Patch 5 and cant play customs in this scenario. When i revert to Patch 4 and insert my USB I can play the customs but none of my DLC is available.

Your DLC is licenced to the specific Xbox and specific gamertag it was originally downloaded on.
When you are using that specific Xbox, the content will work with any gamertag.
When you are using a different Xbox, you need to be signed in to that specific gamertag for it to work.
Your licences were transferred on Microsoft’s servers if you did it through their site, but this does not change the licence signing for the DLC that is already sitting on your Xbox. You have to re-download every piece of content to get it to sign for the new box. Yes, it’s as tedious as it sounds (web interface is your friend), but note that it doesn’t actually download the entire song again, so it’s actually fairly fast (as fast as you can queue them up, basically).
Once you re-download them, they will recognize the current box as the licenced box and you should be able to play them offline again.

RB1 might just require a re-download of the licence key.
RB2/GD were export packs and should show up in your download history.
