I will say this, it is tough doing duets.
We have to listen to the song in the range of 25 to 50 times while making most songs.
If your not a fan of the song it can be very annoying doing them after listening to them over & over & over.
Being totally honest with you all in saying,
We definitely won’t be doing more than a few of these if any.
We will discuss this as a team as we always do & go from there.
If you don’t want to do any of the suggestions, it’s all fine with me. You and Prez bring us enough fun songs that I wouldn’t want you to do a song you wouldn’t enjoy.

Hi Doc,
First and foremost, apologies on my part if by my volunteering those additional duet song requests, it got out of hand and made it appear that we were putting you and MrPrez ‘on the spot’. I assure you, it wasn’t my intent to have you take it that way and then make you feel like you owed anyone an explanation as to how labor intensive the work truly is. Just know that I feel badly if I came across as ‘entitled’ or ‘demanding/expecting’ you guys to honor anything we suggested. I truly am grateful for all that every single author in this community labors thru to bring this awesome content to us.
.I’m not Yakuza (or anything of the sort) so I won’t be sending you a finger in atonement for my dishonor
….however, my Catholic sensibilities do require some sort of penance, so I’ll subject myself to repeatedly listening to Barry Manilow’s “Mandy” for 36 hrs. straight!

It’s totally fine! Said a million times we absolutely love and appreciate requests.
The challenge for us is : :
- what has not yet been charted
- who else might be working on that song
- is there a half decent midi available
- do we both enjoy the song
The last one is pretty subjective because I can usually find something that I enjoy about any song. That being said, the Kid Rock / Cheryl Crow duet was probably the fastest that I went from enjoying a song to absolutely hating it to death. Its not even on my xbox. The next time I hear that will be too soon.
Handing us a short list of songs that you want in the game is very helpful. You guys all keep us motivated to keep going and we want to keep you guys happy by throwing requests in there as often as possible.

Wrong! As terrible as “K-Fed” is, at least he got beat. I can deal with 12 hrs. as long as I focus on beat.

I think most people feel that way about it. The first time you hear it – “this is pretty good”, 2nd time through 100 times you hear on the radio – ” I used to like this song”, and after a 100 times – ” This is the most annoying song ever”. Now every time you hear the first chords – “Nope, still not ready.”

Good day to all
So as most of you have probably figured out, there was no Showdown post again this week.
Be assured we are still here, we both have other “older projects/other songs” we want to get done before getting back into Showdown & the Tuesday deadlines.
We are both actively authoring so your still getting some tunes, it’s just not Showdown for now.
