April 26, 2014 at 6:46 pm #418901Grabbing The Warrior, my friend has been asking for that lately! ThanksSo few days ago I asked SD if he could convert regular tracks done by Mr.M into multitracks and we’ve got Honky Tonk Woman already ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Having multitrack is always the way to go even if quality isn’t spectacular, glad to see pre RB era tracks (even if they are not full band, I bet it won’t be long before someone else completes remaining instruments).
Thanks!
ps.I don’t know if you’re a fan of Misirlou from GH2 but that track is way overdue on RB
I’m a little torn on this. Yes, having multitracks is a more ‘authentic’ Rock Band experience, but Honky Tonk Women proves there are times when the music should take precedence. Even with the multi tracks available, I would be much happier if the charts were used but the audio was replaced by a high quality, single track version. Why? Because the song was so thoroughly and needlessly butchered for the travesty that was Band Hero! Unless the stupidly censored lyrics have been miraculously restored, I’ll still hope to learn enough about the customs process to insert my uncut version of the song into one of these custom jobs ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> Someday…
Agreed. I do love multitracks, but when the existing multitrack is heavily (and rather stupidly) censored, I would prefer the original MP3 used instead.
That said, thank you very much for your multitrack version of Honky Tonk Woman! I love the song and you (and MrMet) did a great job on it.

April 26, 2014 at 7:43 pm #418906You cheeky bastard. Why didn’t you tell me these had camera cuts when I asked before? I tried out the Van Halen song on a whim and it definitely has everything I need. Now I have to download them all! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />Lol I never pay attention to that kind of thing is why, some will have them most won’t unless it is already there. I am definitely not doing any work with that kind of thing when I make these.
April 26, 2014 at 7:54 pm #418910The Warrior is a test project from Rock the 80’s, the audio for these songs are not great. It has guitar/bass & they are multitrack. Please leave feedback on this song if you play
I played the guitar once through on expert and it certainly plays well. The audio isn’t terrible but personally I’d rather have a clearer mp3 because I’d take sound quality over dropped-note-silence if given a choice. The guitar does stand out nicely with the multi, though. Tough call. Thanks for posting these songs, Doc!
I wouldn’t mind helping on vox. I was going to chart it myself if someone else didn’t get to it.Please let me know if you change your mind. I’m in the same boat – I’d have gotten around to it eventually.
I am with you on the older files, the quality of the audio on these sounds great while working on them, but in game it transforms to less than ideal quality. I tried a Scandal Mp3 on this & it seems to get out of time towards the middle & end of the song. Also a lot of the earlier games were cover songs & finding that particular version is impossible. Using the version we are used to hearing doesn’t work either as some are different to the point they won’t match without a shitload of work.

Well, I just tested them all and they all have camera cuts. Maybe we’re thinking of different things here?
Oh, and FYI, the dryvox on Graduate seems really off. Everything else seems to play fine by me!
April 26, 2014 at 10:09 pm #418922Just got done playing The Warrior on guitar and it sounds pretty good to me. It is a little less than ideal quality audio wise…but certainly not horrible at all. I’ve heard customs that have far, far worse audio quality.
I’d certainly be happy with customs from GH80’s and earlier if they were at this standard for audio, if this was the only option for them. It’s not a deal breaker at all, IMO. Very well done, spindoctor! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
April 26, 2014 at 11:03 pm #418928could you please do: Shakin’, Bathroom Wall, Balls to the Wall and Heat of the Moment. All these songs are on the list eventually.

April 27, 2014 at 12:26 am #418937The Warrior is a test project from Rock the 80’s, the audio for these songs are not great. You have two problems with the audio there.
1) Stems are not correctly attenuated in Magma. It looks like you attenuated Bass to -4.0, but both backing and guitar have 0.0 attenuation and if you play all three in Audacity you get clipping from very early on. So I would suggest playing with the attenuation values in Audacity until you get good sounding audio that doesn’t clip. Then put those values into Magma’s attenuation fields. I would start at -5.0 for all three of them based on how loud they are.
2) In the con, the backing audio has the right channel messed up. It’s missing virtually everything from about 2.5 kHz up, and that’s why the singer’s voice is only coming from the left channel and right channel is only parts of the snare and tom hits for the most part. Compare the backing audio in the mogg to the original backing audio, it may be that Magma messed up during encoding.
Or put up the original source files you used and I’ll take a look. I like audio stuff.
Thanks for the feedback. First off I never attenuated anything & none of these were run through Audacity. I use Reaper & render all wave files through it for the early converts. The newer files from World tour & up I combine the drum tracks/guitar tracks etc in Audacity with no problems.
I will PM you the files right now, can you send back when done so I can try them out please?

April 27, 2014 at 2:23 am #418940Great to see a Scorprions track,
Rock You Like a Hurricane would be another fantastic track to have.
It’s a little crazy that there were no Scorpions customs as far as I’m aware.
Hush would be awesome as well, if tracks from GH2 are now on the table. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Agreed but I’d prefer original version of this song, cover isn’t half bad but it’s quite inferior.
Maybe someone will take reins and make the whole band version based on the original.
There’s gotta be Deep Purple fans out there.
April 27, 2014 at 8:56 am #418954I want to reiterate that on the surface, spindoctor’s conversions definitely meet bare minimum standards, from the player point of view. Which is all I cared about. I passed on the thread for a long time until I tried a song out on a whim. Unless you’re super in tune to customs from the creator perspective, these are definitely good enough. The charts are EMHX carried over from Guitar Hero, the camera work is basic, but existent, rather than a singular camera angle, similar of the really old customs, animations are present for all band member and even dryvox (vocal animations) exist.
I am definitely following this thread from here on out. Keep on doing…whatever you’re doing here. This thread is continuing additions to my Guitar Hero conversations folders.
