Hello. I was wondering if there is a way how to get some custom pro upgrades on songs that are affected in the Rock Band: Harmonies Project. I’m currently trying to get airtrooper719’s pro charts for “Green Grass and High Tides,” however, it is not working, and I believe this is because that song is affected by the RB:HP. If there are any threads or videos explaining how to do this, please give the link to me, because I cannot find them.

I manually upgraded all of my songs with both RB:HP and other Pro G/B upgrades. First, replace the songs.dta file with the one from RB:HP. Then, only put the data for a specific song in the RB:HP Packager input folder, build it and use C3 CON Tools’ Upgrade Bundler to upgrade the song, then upgrade the bundled version with the Pro Upgrade file. While doing that second upgrade, make sure the song id of the upgrade file matches that of the RB:HP bundled file, or the game will crash upon entering the song selection screen.

 

Hope this helps. Lot of work for hundreds of songs, but certainly worth it to me! No more headaches when having to rebuild the cache!

Thanks for the reply! I still cant seem to figure out how to do both upgrades even with this explanation. So this is what I did, and correct me when I make a mistake:

 

(I already have RB:HP project download with a songs.dta and upgrades.dta existing in my RB:HP folder with all of the downloads and optional upgrades, and I was trying to get “Green Grass and High Tides” to have RB:HP files and Pro G/:cool:

1. I replaced the songs.dta + upgrades.dta founded in the file greengrass with my songs.dta + upgrades.dta that has the information of every song.

2. I took the actual “Green Grass and High Tides” from RB1 and Upgraded it with the Harmonies founded in RB:HP (The id for the song was 19)

3. I took the “greengrass (bundled)” file into the Upgrade Bundle and added the Pro G/B Upgrade. (Made the ID 19 again)

4. I dragged the new “greengrass (bundled) (bundled)” file into my flash drive and started up RB3 with the flashdrive connected.

5. I went over “Green Grass and High Tides” and the pro G/B still weren’t there, but the Harmonies Upgrades were still there. (I tested to see if the song worked on Harmonies, and it did)

 

What error did I make?

Be sure to delete the song from within Rock Band 3 to clear it from the song cache, then add it agin (the fully bundled one). From the top, what I did to get it to work:

 

1. Replace songs.dta in the RB1 export file with the one from RB:HP. Not upgrades.dta, just songs.dta.

2. Place the Green Grass and High Tides upgrades.dta and plus.midi file in the folder for packaging. Only the files for one song at a time.

3. Build the upgrade. RBHP_CustomUpgradePackage_[yyyymmdd] is the file you should bundle with the Upgrade Bundler.

4. Then bundle the Pro G/B upgrade.

 

If you still have your old RB:HP package, it’s probably best to rebuild it without the data for Green Grass and High Tides (and any other songs you wish to upgrade this way). Either way, make sure the song is deleted from the song cache, by deleting the song from within the game. If that doesn’t work, delete the entire song cache, or back it up to a flash drive.

I still cant seem to figure out how to have both upgrades working at the same time. I did exactly what you said and none of the upgrades showed up. After messing with RB3, RB:HP and the pro upgrades, I reached 2 points: 1 being where all the upgrades show up, but the game crashes when I start them up, or where all the upgrades show up and when I try to play, it just skips the song.

 

I’ve also tried to add the Pro G/B upgrades into RB:HP and re-installed all of RB:HP on my console, and the upgrades show up, but the song will skip when I try to play it.

 

Ill just give up on this for now, I might try again at a later date.

So I managed to accidentally get this to work. I noticed that some songs would not play when I tried to play them (panic attack, gimme shelter, and green grass), and I found out these songs wouldn’t play because I messed up the install for rock band 1 and 2 songs in the RB:HP. So when I re-downloaded the RB:HP to my xbox, I noticed that the pro g/b upgrades showed up for green grass along with other songs, like “my own worst enemy” and “when we were young.” I never removed these pro upgrades, and now they somehow worked.

 

So I guess if you ever re-download RB:HP, and if you have the pro g/b upgrades in your flashdrive in the process, it will also use those upgrades for the song. I will test these a bit more, but this might be a really easy way to get multiple pro g/b upgrades at once.
