I apologize upfront if this is a dumb question or has been answered elsewhere, but I have a lot of rock band files that need to be converted to rb3con. I was using a program called rb2con, but it is one file at a time. I was looking into the con tool provided on here and was thinking the con creator would help me, but the tutorials don’t seem to cover it. Again sorry if this is a dumb question but it would take forever to do one at a time. Any help is appreciated. You guys are awesome.
Are you talking about RBA files? If so you need to throw them at CON Converter. That’ll batch convert RBA to CON, as well as CON <-> LIVE.
I guess so. I am new to all of this. Ok so I open drag them to con converter and set the package. That places all the files under one name in a package that can be dragged to a USB and will work on the game? Thank you for the quick response by the way.
You need to do some more research so you understand what you’re doing.
If you have RBA files, there is no guessing. They have the extension .rba, and there’s one file per song. You need to convert that to CON. Use CON Converter. Once you do that, the resulting file can be put in game or can be put into a pack of songs using Pack Creator. That’s covered in the tutorial and the help documentation.
If you have the loose component files, which is unlikely that you have them for a Rock Band file, then you do use CON Creator, but you need to be aware of how a Rock Band file is structured so you can put the files in the correct structure. For that, open an existing Rock Band file with C3 CON Tools and check out its contents. But that’s definitely not “I just found all this and i’m a complete beginner” type of thing.
There are thousands of Rock Band songs in CON format ready to go on your Xbox. So I would recommend starting with those.
Thank you very much. I think I can figure it out from there. Either way the con tool should be better than the rb2con program i was using.

I sure hope so. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
