      Hi everyone,

Aspiring author here, having discovered this community a couple weeks ago I’ve gotten set up for customs and fully hooked. I hope to contribute material as high quality as I’ve seen here… But that’s a ways off. For now, I am starting slow with a conversion of a full band PS chart. The chart needed reductions and tweaks but is otherwise almost ready to go thanks to a variety of tutorials I found here at C3. But one area I have not found much about is dryvox, and I have some questions about it:

      1. What are the best practices for using dryvox, especially for mixdown sources? Is it usually a self-recording by the author?

      2. What are the consequences on scoring if your dryvox has issues? If it’s missing altogether?

      3. In the template, are solo vocal and harmony1 both dryvox1? How is this done for say a duet where the harmony chart moves half the lyrics into harmony2?

      Yes.

Better dryvox = tighter scoring, but word is that it’s not a big deal. Someone else may chime in with more details.

Yes they are. Some authors use camera redirection (in the VENUE track) so you don’t see the lead singer mouthing the HARM2 parts.

I suppose this means for example a growly/vibrato note or slight desync will be more forgiving to hit, which makes sense. Very helpful, thank you.

It pretty much is for the phonemes, or basically how the mouth moves in game. It does consider through the scoring but I think that it is mainly for the mouth movements in the game.
