Why not improvise a full Multitrack with these by turning the backing track into an instrumental for the drums, and then picking up the rest and making the Vocals track with it? Unlike Multitracking from scratch, this is rather easy to be done on Audacity.

If you mean separating drums from keys from vocals in Audacity, replace “easy” with “impossible for 99.999% of the songs” and you know why even karaoke versions of our songs are rare.

        Ha. Hilarious :-)

It’s difficult to impossible in Audition…Audacity is a joke for audio separation. But what do i know :-p

Oh, and one more thing: please put up links for non-C3 releases on the main post, if possible. It’s a bit tiresome having to shuffle through the board after this or that song.

You’ll find a lot of them in the Customs Repository.

Except for Queens of the Stone Age: How To Handle a Rope and Shadows Fall: Still I Rise, which I’m starting to doubt even exist.

I’ll have to double-check my own folder, but I’m fairly certain I have How to Handle a Rope, though I could be mistaken. There are a lot of qotsa customs floating around, though (but still no “If Only,” sadly).

As for the other song, well, it isn’t one that I have, and I don’t remember specifically, but I tried to source these pretty carefully. If it can’t be sourced though, I will remove it.

Um, I’m sorry that I had posted a thread about this in another board. :sweatdrop: I didn’t even realize you guys were already looking into this.

No worries about posting another, sorry about your duplicated effort.

As for putting up links, well… I considered it a few times, but blanched at the amount of effort it would take. If you felt like contributing, though, I would consider it.

Which happens to be my favorite track from that album. So I’ll eventually get to it.

Appreciated. By all means, sample some of the other random shit that I chart, just finished more Bloodhound Gang, Scars on Broadway, and coming up soon I’ve got some HULKAMANIA.

I like that BHG cover that you just added, I’m looking forward to that. I’d actually never heard it before and it definitely grabbed me. The wrestling stuff isn’t really my cuppa, but a lot of folks around here seem excited by it!

I feel like you might be fluffing up the numbers a little bit.

No, I meant just the drums. I wasn’t thinking of songs with keys or any instruments other than the basics.

I had this thought because I’ve heard on YouTube some instrumental versions of songs made with Audacity. In some cases, you can only hear the vocals if you listen really hard, which is the same effect as turning the Vocal Track to the minimum in the Vocal Options (as can be noticed in Practice Mode). And most pre-GHWT songs already have a separate guitar track and bass track (not counting the lead/rhythm ones), so for many of them the only things left on the backing track are drums and vocals (again, here, not counting the ones that use other instruments, like keys). So what I was saying is, extract the vocals from the backing track to make it all drums and put the rest on the vocals track. I’m no whiz at using Audacity, but I know that separating the instruments is pretty much impossible without any kind of loss to the sound, and I also know of the method to make instrumentals, which led me to this idea. But then again, I was just saying, it’s not like I’m deliberately trying to appear stupid to the more experienced charters. So if I’m talking shit, then I’ll retreat my statement, block what I said out of my mind and we’ll never talk about this again.

I agree about the effort thing. I may be able to lend a hand, though it’ll certainly take a while.

So I remember TheLieInKing made a more complete Expert drum chart for Scatterbrain, but has anyone else successfully brought in all the instrument charts to RB/Phase Shift?

Man with how quick these awesome people are churning out GH conversions over in the Other Customs Discussion forum, this list is quite outdated! I wish there was some way to make the first post editable by all (some sort of wiki) so others could help with keeping up with all of the GH conversions coming out and questionmark wouldn’t have to do it all!
