4/7/14
Jim Croce “Time in a Bottle” (V/G/B, emhx with rhythm on bass) and Stone Temple Pilots “Still Remains” (V/G/B, emhx).
Charting “Time in a Bottle” was what really inspired me to start putting bass into my customs – even though it’s got no bass. It just seemed stupid to chart the song without both guitars. The audio of the song has a different guitar on each channel, so separating the two wasn’t terribly difficult and the result is really fun to play on both. If anyone adds keys (second half of the song) this song will be FB since there are no drums. I’d try to put them in myself, but I have ZERO experience playing/charting keys and I wouldn’t want to make a mess of it.
“Still Remains” is an STP fave of mine and has several lines in it that strongly echo the feelings I have for my wife.
Updates are moving along, only a few left to go. Next week look for a FB/emhx new release collaboration and an FB/emhx update from the same artist. With luck, that should be the final bass/reduc update.

April 15, 2014 at 1:28 am #417890Awesome! My favorite STP song. Hopefully drums in the future
April 15, 2014 at 3:29 am #417910Two more great songs Colonel, thank you for sharing them. STP always rocks and Time in a Bottle will probably give me childhood flashbacks. My dad played quite a bit of Jim Croce when I was a little kid.

Awesome! My favorite STP song. Hopefully drums in the futureReally, your favorite? It never got air time, so you must have listened to Purple as much as I did. STP love song. Sorry I am drum-chart-challenged.

My dad played quite a bit of Jim Croce when I was a little kid.Hope they’re good flashbacks! Turns out Croce died in a plane crash the year after he recorded this song. The record company wasn’t going to release it as a single, but the words about how “there never seems to be enough time to do the things you want to do once you find them” sounded like he was speaking from the grave, so they did. Great, sad song.

Are you implying there’s an end to this madness?
April 16, 2014 at 12:36 pm #418039Real good stuff in this thread. Would you mind posting the RPP project with all assets of the songs that best represents your work?

Damn you and your good memory, lol. I do need to revisit it. I had a tough time starting that one. My son says the first half of the song is full of ghost hits on the snare and it’s has a 6/8 time signature. I will try again…soonish???
April 18, 2014 at 6:32 pm #418179Just an FYI, Don’t Follow is down, tried it multiple times.
But THANK YOU for giving hard players like me access to your customs! Excellent work!

Thank you – I’m really glad more people can play them now. We need to thank the mighty Farottone for developing the CAT software that makes it so easy.
Regarding the link, I just checked it, it seems to be working. The custom has dozens of downloads, so it HAS worked, but here’s a raw link – try that. If you still have problems, let me know and we’ll figure out a different way to get it to you.
April 21, 2014 at 9:16 pm #418467Latest Release:
Full Band, CAT reductions
After charting V&G for “Just Like a Pill”, I sent it off to EmotionalDaisy for B/K/D – and he came through.
We even have pro keys, but we just couldn’t get CAT to reduce them, so when E-D has the time, he’ll reduce the pro keys by hand and we’ll post an update. Until then, enjoy the keys as they are!
