Not sure about the copywrite issue – might be something someone with more youtube experience can answer.
Also, I don’t hear the song audio when I play the clip, just the audience(!) – all your other videos sound fine. It’s like the song was removed from the audio of this clip! Anyone else have the same issue?
November 6, 2014 at 3:55 pm #432267That’s hilarious. Maybe the song was compiled with blank audio? Or the attenuation levels were a “bit” high on Magma?
November 6, 2014 at 4:18 pm #432268It’s not a problem with the custom itself, that works fine. Not sure how the video’s audio was rendered, but I’m pretty sure he heard the song while playing it!
November 6, 2014 at 4:37 pm #432269But how did they remove the song but not the effects and crowd noise?
November 6, 2014 at 4:58 pm #432272Subtract waveform. They have a fingerprint of the waveform to match, I suppose they use the same technology to automatically silence the track. Now, THAT we need to do karaoke versions. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

38 Special – “Like No Other Night”
I’ve been absent from my thread for a while, but I’m back now and proudly presenting my first drum chart in a custom. I never play drums, but I hate to depend on someone else to complete my customs, so I decided to try and figure it out with the help of Drummerrockband’s drum charting tutorial, the official docs and searching the forums. I picked this song because it wasn’t terribly complicated on drums, though I did chart all instruments by ear, so it won’t be perfect. If you find anything that is outright wrong in the drum chart, please let me know via PM so I can learn what not to do in the future. I’m hoping to add drums to several of my existing customs as well as tossing in a few unreleased customs along the way. Expect to see another custom or two released from me through official C3 channels before the drop of RB4, but this one would never had made it due to the last-minute crunch so I decided to release it here today. Enjoy!
*Edit 9/15/15
Fixed drum animations and possibly other issues caused by using the incorrect midi in Magma.
September 8, 2015 at 1:01 am #454489Nice! glad to see you haven’t abandoned the customs which are missing drums. So glad you pick a 38 Special song for your trial, hope Teacher Teacher make it too ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Saludos!
September 8, 2015 at 3:48 am #454498Great to see you back Colonel, Nice Choice, Can’t wait to play this!!
September 12, 2015 at 5:37 pm #454771Fantastic song and great job on the drums!!! The only bit of constructive criticism that I would offer is to suggest that you add the drummer animations – otherwise, this is outstanding ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
I also agree with jloboc’s suggestion that you think about adding drums to “Teacher, Teacher” as well.
September 12, 2015 at 5:55 pm #454774Not sure why they’re not there – the animations are charted and the text events are in place. I’ll check it out more later when I have some time. Thank you for the kudos and the heads-up!

October 3, 2015 at 11:30 pm #456655Hello all.
As you know there have been some great new changes made here at C3 such as the new forums and the new Collective database. In line with these and other changes, I’ve decided to utilize the DB as a depository for full band customs only. I will use this thread to announce additions or updates to songs in the DB and for feedback for those songs (at least for now).
Here are my personal criteria for a Colonel’s Custom to be added to the database:
- Full band, VGBD
- Pitched Vocals
- Pro Drums
- Pitched Harmonies
- Authored reductions
- Lipsync, all parts
- Fills/Overdrive for all instruments
- Accurate practice sections
- Accurate metadata
- Minor venue edits to showcase sing-a-longs
At my discretion:
- 5-Lane Keys and pro-Keys if discernible (I’ll do my best, no promises)
I still openly welcome collaborations even though I am trying to chart drums and keys myself. Any help I get will only speed things along. Over the next few months I will be going through all of my existing forum-shared customs to get them up to DB quality. I will announce any changes made to the original custom when I upload. Songs will be uploaded as they are ready. Once I am through the songs I am already sharing, I will begin on some new releases, but it will be a while as there are several dozen I currently need to add drums and/or keys to and many of them will require a good polishing. The C3 playtesting/sanity check process is a harsh mistress, but she teaches you well. I’m no great author, but I’ve learned a lot over the past few years and the thanks for that education belongs to a list of people to long to name. They know who they are and they rock.
I have already uploaded two customs into the database, Sammy Hagar’s “There’s Only One Way to Rock” and My Darkest Days’ “Pornstar Dancing”. No changes were made to either file, so there’s no point in downloading either of them if you have them already. More will be forthcoming.
Long Live The Collective!
October 4, 2015 at 5:54 am #456669That’s cool that you’re putting in the extra effort. I’m only putting up my most polished stuff up there too. I hope others try somewhat to follow that so the database doens’t get to sloppy.
October 4, 2015 at 4:02 pm #456690Recent additions to the database:
38 Special – “Like No Other Night”
All-American Rejects – “Night Drive”
Alice in Chains – “Got Me Wrong”
Alice in Chains – “All Secrets Known”
Alice in Chains – “Put You Down”
Papa Roach – “Getting Away with Murder”
There were no changes made to these customs, so no need to re-DL.
It looks like the rest of the full band customs I’ve shared needs harmonies, keys, practice sections or other work before I can upload them. I’d better get busy. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
