If I am any indicator, not very quickly. He assigned two guitar charts to me, and the second has taken two weeks, and is still not completed. Later Chicago liked to change things up every few measures, so, in a six-minute song, there is no let up, and no sections repeat. I much prefer charting a song where the main theme repeats over and over …

No worries, there is a big difference in sound from early to later Chicago…thanks for the hard work
March 10, 2016 at 6:59 pm #465013Yeah, it’s surprisingly difficult. It’s usually that way with jazz rock. I’m helping out with a keyboard part and this particular song has taken over two months (granted I’ve been busy so that doesn’t help) but it’s either difficult to hear, figure out chords, or have to edit each note by itself because as bsbloom said, they don’t keep things repetitive.
March 11, 2016 at 12:40 pm #465069well to keep you up to date since I have chosen to release these as packs and I’m relying on the kindness of others to complete parts for me sometimes we must wait longer than we’d like but yes the difficulty doesn’t help so as long as you’re patient I promise it will be worth the wait

sounds great, the work you all have done has made me really appreciate the greatness of Chicago, and the degree their sound changed through the years.

March 19, 2016 at 8:51 am #465593UPDATE 3/19 – Chicago VII pack released!
Here is part 2 comprising the final half of Chicago’s final double album. This would be Chicago’s most diverse release with many genres spanning all 4 sides of the original vinyl release. Credits listed below . Also thanks to my friend Masayuki Funatsu for creating a great image for this pack.
GUITAR: bsbloom
5 LANE KEYS: anglebracket/Bansheeflyer
VOCALS: Dash Riprock“(I’ve Been) Searchin’ So Long” was the first single released reaching number 9 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
GUITAR: ghostbyob
5 LANE KEYS: anglebracketA party anthem is ever they had one. This song was played live on New Years Rockin Eve 1974. Mostly instrumental but fun from start to finish.
GUITAR: Arcanon
5 LANE KEYS: anglebracketThe first of two epic instrumentals it features a brilliant guitar solo from Terry Kath and plenty of odd time signatures throughout.
GUITAR: Arcanon
This version is studio rehearsal with a different arrangement than the album version. It’s more uptempo and hard rockin’. I chose not to chart the keys as they were very hard to decipher. Don’t worry I won’t make a habit of it.
5 LANE KEYS: anglebracket
The final track on the album was actually donated from Robert Lamm’s solo album of also called Skinny Boy with a new horn part added. It has no guitar but the bass part played by guitarist Terry Kath is brutal and the funkiness is non stop ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
GUITAR: bsbloom
5 LANE KEYS: anglebracket
This acoustic ballad features a beautiful bossa nova arrangment and silky smooth vocals by Peter Cetera.April 9, 2016 at 3:11 am #466735UPDATE 4/8 – Chicago VIII pack Part 1 released!
Here is part 1 of my 2 pack release for Chicago VIII released in 1975. The music would start to be simplified and more straight up rock but no less creative nor fun to play. Credits listed below. Also thanks to my friend Masayuki Funatsu for creating a great image for this pack.
