July 27, 2014 at 5:12 am #425624I don’t know much about the modern Sonic lore, tbqh. I’ve only completed Shadow the Hedgehog, and that was years ago. I tried Sonic Adventure and got frustrated a lot with the controls and quit. I tried Sonic ’06 and got so frustrated with the controls and bugginess that I quit and looked up a Let’s Play instead. I tried Sonic Unleashed, and while I had fun with the running levels, I quit at the first Werehog stage due to boredom and looked up another Let’s Play. I enjoyed what I’ve played of Generations, though I didn’t play it to completion because I was lended a friend’s copy (a Sonic fan friend of mine tried to convert me by giving me a few games to try out).
So I have a rather limited knowledge of the geography of the Sonic universe, because I never payed attention to it. I do know a bit of the individual plots of the games I’ve completed and watched LPs of, but that’s about it. So sorry if I don’t necessarily know all the details and intricate callbacks to previous Sonic games hidden within the city levels.
It’s ok I understand.
Shadow was the Sonic game that made me a total fan. Branching storylines , multiple endings , cussing , guns , vehicle driving! That was the definition of fun. I wonder how a movie based on it will go considering they have sequels planned already.
July 27, 2014 at 5:24 am #425625cussing , guns , vehicle driving! Those things actually made me take the game less seriously. The cussing seemed so forced (and cussing is not a big deal at all. It’s just words, there’s nothing to it), the guns made you severely overpowered with your constant hover and autotarget, and the vehicles were pointless because you went faster on foot. But hey, to each their own. If those are aspects you enjoyed most, then good for you! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Yep , but these sequels…
Theres going to be one per year!
July 27, 2014 at 5:31 am #425627Can I have a source for the announcement of sequels, BTW? It seems rather strange that they already announce sequels to a thing they announced was getting made last month, unless they plan on making it a trilogy or something, like the Lord of the Rings.

It seems rather strange that they already announce sequels to a thing they announced was getting made last month, unless they plan on making it a trilogy or something, like the Lord of the Rings. This was announced by some guy who had plenty of info and said in an interview with marzia that they would make one movie per year. Just type in Sonic Movie sequels and you may find the source.
July 27, 2014 at 5:37 am #425630I would prefer a link to the actual announcement. Unless they are actually known for being involved with the film, I’d say it’s just someone spreading misinformation for the sake of popularity and discussion.

July 27, 2014 at 5:46 am #425633“Some website” really doesn’t give me any reassuring notions. I couldn’t find it with a Google search, so I am assuming either it was fabricated, or they may have been predicting that the movie would get sequels IF it were successful. Time will tell, I guess.
Anyway, I’m done for the night with this. Can’t believe it’s already been two pages with just three posters going back-and-forth with it.

Me nether. I was about to say the same thing,
July 27, 2014 at 4:04 pm #425647Considering this a music forum I wonder what the soundtrack would be like.
Lyra said she wanted I Cum Blood and Raining Blood on it though I doubt I Cum Blood would only make it in as an insturmental and Raining Blood might get in there but probably not.
In addition to some awesome song by Crush 40 I think these songs should be in the movie…
Bowling For Soup-High School Never Ends
Smosh-Firetruck!
Anthrax-Madhouse
T.Rex-Bang A Gong (Get It On)
Michael Sembello-Maniac
Rush-Tom Sawyer
Iron Maiden-Run To The Hills
Some Irish Drinking Song (Laddi Laddi Laddi Laddi Laddi Laddi Laddi!)
Megadeth-Hangar 18
Megadeth-Symphony Of Destruction
The Clash-London Calling
Wham!-Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go

As for music, I wouldn’t really get my hopes up for much of what you posted. When it comes to music, Sony Pictures usually sticks with the poppier side of things. I’d expect some pop-punk at the heaviest, and possibly dubstep.

I’m expecting more the Rock and Metal scene here due to that being Sonic’s favorite genre.
July 27, 2014 at 5:00 pm #425658I’m expecting more the Rock and Metal scene here due to that being Sonic’s favorite genre.I don’t know how to break this to you. Generally, if something is targeted towards kids, which I am certain this film will be, rock and metal is pushed aside in modern cinema. I’ve seen it happen with other video game movies, that instead of keep in tone with the original game, they either make it really light and bouncy with pop music or make it way more grimdark than necessary, maybe put in some Adele or something. If they do decide to do rock and metal, it’ll probably be rather poppy rock and metal written specifically for the movie. Maybe a rock cover of the classic game tunes (Green Hill Zone, etc.). Definitely not stuff like Megadeth.

We can stop this pop thing by emailing them agressively (Admit that Irish drinking song would make the movie get rave reviews) Sonic was destined for songs from Megadeth.
July 27, 2014 at 5:07 pm #425661You can email them all you want, I don’t really care enough to make drunken emails to movie execs demanding they put in some goddamn Be’lakor because it’s what I tend to listen to. I’m sure they’re already working out how it’ll go.
