Our project got stuck at the zoning board stage because the members couldn’t “visualize” the building properly. Someone mentioned getting professional renders to make the next presentation more convincing. Has anyone tried this approach and seen results?

That’s an interesting idea. I’ve never used 3D renders in a zoning meeting, but maybe it’s becoming more common?

Yes, 3D visualization can absolutely influence zoning decisions. It humanizes the proposal, especially if neighbors or local boards are skeptical. I had a similar case in a coastal town with strict building codes. We partnered with https://www.genense.com/ and their visuals made the project feel less abstract and more approachable. One board member even said, “Now I finally get what you’re trying to do.” It shifted the conversation from confusion to constructive feedback, and we got approval in the next round.
