    C3X WORLD TOUR: WEEK TWO

    PRETTY IN PUNK

Your entertainment tonight consists of bands lead by the best among us. They’re tough, they’re talented, and yes they’ve got an attitude to match! We’re opening with some kickass ladies, but don’t even think about leaving early because we’ve got the talented PJ Harvey here to headline. Grab a cold drink (free for the ladies [kueller’s note: thank you]) and enjoy the show!

Tonight we head on down to CBGB. It may not look like much more than a (now closed) small venue in the south of Manhattan, but this little place was the home to the early pioneers of punk. Let’s enjoy this setting of rock history as we introduce our acts.

Our main act for tonight: PJ Harvey!

    PJ Harvey Pack by yaniv297

A legendary headliner fitting for such a legendary venue. PJ Harvey boasts a career spanning three decades, with music ranging from powerful alternative rock to softer grooves. In her time she has picked up two Mercury Prize wins (the only artist to have ever done so) and produced collaborations with other similary big names of modern music.

Tonght Yaniv brings you a collection of music from her classic To Bring You My Love and the critically acclaimed Songs from the City, Songs from the Sea with a guest appearance by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke. Top it off with a collaboration with Nick Cave and we have a show to remember here for sure.

And now out wonderful female-fronted supporting acts!

    Liz Phair – Supernova

    From author
    Mr. Prezident:

Liz Phair’s sophomore release “Whip-Smart” was one of 1994’s most anticipated albums, and was nominated for a Grammy in 1995 for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. The crunch-pop roar of “Supernova” proved that Liz could swing along with Elastica and shred like Matthew Sweet.

The risqué narrative expands on Liz Phair’s favourite themes: sex, love, power chords, and rock & roll; about the moment when you first fall for someone, when everything that person does seems like the coolest thing a person could ever do.

Brilliant week, and I’m happy to be a big part of it <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

There’s an unfortunate bug on one of my tunes (Big Exit first verse should be talkies but it isn’t), I’m on vacation in Greece now so I’ll only be able to fix it in Monday. That’s when I’ll post my songs to the DB and update my thread too.

In the meantime enjoy all those songs! And I’m biased but if you like indie check out the Camera Obscura song, it’s not very well known but it’s awesome!

Please note, all of my songs (other than Henry Lee) were updated with bug fixes today. Those are 4 PJ songs and “Lloyd, I’m Ready to be Heartbroken”. I highly recommend downloading the new version.

Especially of ‘Big Exit’ where the first verse should have been talkies, but it wasn’t, making it pretty much broken in the original version.
