I knew you had this but it’s still surprising to see an official release by Green Day for C3Thon!

December 14, 2017 at 7:19 am #493366Special Announcement!
Hello all, we’d like to take this time to announce a special event. First, a little background:
A little over a year ago we learned the unfortunate news that longtime member Alex Taylor, a.k.a Super Blooper, passed away. Alex was a very active and influential member of our community. Not only did he produce excellent charts (most with pro guitar and bass) from some diverse groups primarily in the metal genre, he was also a very kind and polite person. He was a shining light in our community and it was a painful loss to C3 and the world when he passed.
We understand that today, the 14th, is Alex’s birthday. We’d like to dedicate this day to him with three releases from three artists that belted out the heavy, powerful genre of metal that Alex had constantly provided us with. This is our thanks and our tribute to him.
Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you:
Day of Metal
December 14, 2017 at 8:12 am #493367December 14, 2017 at 9:33 am #493368Pre-Dookie Green Day is way under-represented in Rock Band. Thank you!
December 14, 2017 at 10:51 am #493369Great thing you’re doing guys, Alex would be really happy to see this I’m sure.
December 14, 2017 at 11:35 am #49337060. December 14th, 6AM EST-12:00 CETDay of Metal: Gojira 4-packby Spiralshadow123To kick off the Day of Metal, I present you all with four prog masterpieces from French metal legends Gojira. It was initially my plan to have their entire album From Mars to Sirius done today, but due to time constraints I had to limit it to four songs. These are four of my favorite songs from the band, and are a blast to play on guitar and especially drums.Gojira – Flying WhalesGojira – SilveraGojira – Toxic Garbage IslandGojira – Ocean PlanetThis is also a kickoff of my Gojira: Rock Band project, where I will work my way to charting all six albums (and more, I’m sure) in Gojira’s discography. If you would like to help me with this, please send me a PM!Video previews of these can be found on my YouTube channel.Song count so far: 214The next author up at December 14th, 2PM EST-20:00 CET is Bansheeflyer, whose contribution comes from “an album about loss in the wake of an apocalypse”.December 14, 2017 at 1:34 pm #493371Great accomplishment on Rush – Clockwork Angels! I am in awe of the amount of work that must have gone into that project. Now take a little break so you don’t burn out. I burnt out last March but have been thinking of starting up again. We’ll see. Thanks!
December 14, 2017 at 3:08 pm #49337261. December 14th, 12PM EST-8:00 CETDay of Metal: Daughter of the Moonby BansheeflyerInsomnium – Daughter of the Moon(2x available in the database)This is the first of several songs from Insomnium that will be released on C3. This premiere, “Daughter of the Moon”, comes from the album Since the Day It All Came Down, using a metaphor of an apocalypse as the internal struggle of a man and son losing their wife/mother. For a song in the death metal genre it’s unusually tame but has some neat guitar riffs and drumming sections. Singers, be prepared to whisper! And then growl. And then whisper again.Thank you Alex for all you’ve done for C3.Song count so far: 215The next author up at December 14th, 10PM EST-4:00 CET is nsw1-6, with a band that returns to C3thon with a seldom-performed B-side cover of a song from a supergroup formed by two of its band members out of boredom.December 14, 2017 at 10:08 pm #493374Special Announcement!
