Was never a big JT fan, but I am beginning to appreciate them more. Thanks for such a major release, thick as a brick!.
May 25, 2017 at 8:59 am #485476Outstanding gentlemen!
May 26, 2017 at 12:28 am #485492Oh wow. I can’t believe my old charts are still floating around. It’s really cool to see.
I was considering getting back into making some drum charts, but I’m really out of touch with the way things are done these days. Perhaps I’ll give it a go.
May 26, 2017 at 9:43 am #485508Welcome back, Tadracing. Your Nightwish project was absolutely amazing. Phenomenal charting.
May 26, 2017 at 10:51 pm #485525Thank you! I appreciate it.
Has making songs changed drastically? It’s been at least 5 years for me, probably more.
May 30, 2017 at 2:27 pm #485673Thank you, man!
Jethro Tull (and “Thick as a Brick”, no less) in RB3 is just fuckin’ phenomenal!
Stupendous work!
June 17, 2017 at 2:10 pm #486476I am back to a normal schedule, with no more Thick Bricks. So, four new customs for this month, all from a French Jazz Guitarist, Martin Gioani. He does old classics, reinterpreted for his lovely guitar work. Three of these have appeared, in their original versions, in our database, but all are great songs, and it is wonderful to hear a world-class guitarist put his stamp on these songs.

Three of these songs are likely quite familiar to you. You may not know Take Five, but it is a superb jazz work. The original, by Dave Brubeck, featured amazing drums, and is worth picking up from our database, if you are a drummer, but that Brubeck version is not finished.
Gioani’s version has pretty simple drums, but a great guitar part.
Going on vacation in a couple of weeks, so you probably won’t hear from me until August. Keep rockin’.
June 17, 2017 at 2:44 pm #486478Nice pack!
July 12, 2017 at 5:05 am #487612The last group is Iron Butterfly, with a song that needs no introduction.
Drums are by Blitzbob. Download is here:

So, break out the bongs and tie-dyes. Bang away on some RB drums, or some plain old air drums, and trip away.
Harmonix announced this track will be officially released by them this week, but I’m a Wii user… the link in the quoted post is broken and the custom ain’t in the database… anybody got a link before the clock ticks down?

As soon as the announcement hits, the song(s) go down

August 12, 2017 at 12:02 pm #489314Three new customs for you this month.
Two from Joe Satriani:

This is an old classic instrumental, written by the Farina brothers, and recorded in 1959 (their version is in our database). The Santo and Johnny version was a huge hit, and the song has been covered by many other artists. My favorite – Satriani. This appeared on his Strange Beautiful Music album, the only song there not written by Satch.
Continuing with Satriani, we have:

This is one bear of a song. There are two stretches of guitar that are close to impossible to handle. Drums are almost as ridiculous. It is a great song, but be prepared to fail early and often playing this one on expert.
Last song:

This is a phenomenal blues piece, written by the amazing Robert Johnson in 1936. Cream did this one, rearranged by Clapton, and released a live recording on their Wheels of Fire album. That song was played 50 years ago!
What a song. This one shaped rock and roll, and has won many awards. Rolling Stone put this as number three on their list of all-time great guitar songs. During the two solos, both Baker and Bruce let loose on drums and bass, so this is fun on every instrument, but the song belongs to Eric Clapton. His guitar work is legendary, and this is one of his finest vocal performances.
I still can’t believe that half a century has passed since this song was made.
I hope you like Eric Clapton – I have three more songs nearly finished, with another three in the wings.
August 12, 2017 at 1:28 pm #489316Full-band Cream! YAY! Will play it as soon as i get to my instrument. Many thanks. Hoping for more Cream down the road.
And more Clapton overall also welcomed. Hopefully some day we’ll see Blind Faith album upgraded to full-band also.
August 12, 2017 at 4:17 pm #489319Thanks for Cream. And yes more Cream / Clapton is very welcome. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Yep. Those are the three near completion – waiting on drums from AJ. There are six songs on that album. Nunchuck did one, and we have three mostly done. No plans, though, for the other two songs.
