I had a look at the RPP from the first post but Reaper crashed everytime I tried to modify the tempo at 106.1.0, and the notes couldn’t be modified after that point, seems like that measure was messing everything up. Anyway it was kinda out of sync since you changed the tempo around 43.1.0, because the cymbals weren’t falling at the right place (ie separating the measures).

I fixed your markers at that spot, you should be able to continue the tempo mapping after that point: http://www.mediafire.com/download/zab7xcby94a112a/Sea+in+the+Sky+-+Tread+Lightly.RPP

Somehow I completely missed the link in the first post. My apologies. I’ll take a quick look at both RPPs (yours and Ollie’s) just to see if there’s anything I can add and I’ll let you know if I see anything weird.

Ollie did a good job of fixing this for you. I’ll try to explain below what happened here so that you don’t run into this in the future:

        1. As I mentioned above, when you put a TS change down, you want to make sure it is exactly on the first beat of a measure (X.1.00). If it isn’t, you’re going to have a bad time in REAPER. This is what happened:

The first thing I’m going to point out is that you have a TS change where there wasn’t one. It stayed in 4/4 the whole time, so this change was unnecessary. That being said, that’s not really the problem. If you look at the numbers along the top, you’ll notice it skips 106….

        105.1.00….

        105.3.00….

        107.1.00….

        107.3.00….

So where the hell did 106 go? REAPER got mad that the “TS Change” wasn’t on 106.1.00…. rather it was probably on 106.1.04, or something like that. So REAPER said “well…. F it. I’m just gonna start a new measure right here and squeeze all of 106 into a tiny space.”

        Like this:

So what can you do?? Well… as I said above. Don’t bother trying to “move it” into place. It won’t work correctly most of the time, and things are going to be off sync. So instead you should remove it entirely, and put a new one down (exactly on X.1.00)

I find the easiest way to do this is to turn snap-to-grid on, click on the measure I want the TS change to be, and then insert it manually from the toolbar (insert>time signature change/tempo marker)

Anyway. You can (and probably should) just use the RPP that Ollie sent you, but I hope this has been at least a little bit helpful. As I said before… I completely understand the pain and frustration that you’ve probably had going through this. Make sure if you come across any issues you search on the forum and ask for help if you can’t find an answer. People here are generally happy to try and help out.
