What is the best way to collaborate with someone on a song? If they asked me to chart drums for example, how would I get the tempo map and how would I send just the drum track back?
Is there a way to export individual tracks that can be imported back in to reaper?
Thanks in advance!
Share the Reaper project file, and audio stems if necessary.
First thing is to tempo map before sending them the project file. As for getting just the drum track back, you can simply select PART DRUMS in Reaper and do “Selected tracks only” when exporting the midi.
Personally I just get the whole format and project given to me/ give back with the parts I’ve done. No need to just give over just the drums either way really. If you get given the project and the audio, just do the drums save it under a different name (e.g NameOfSong_Drums) and then just give it back (you don’t even need to give the audio back). They can simply copy and paste, or just use it if they have made no progress since giving it to you.
This is also a good thing to do because sometimes people miss things on their other tracks. I am always happy if more eyes are on the things I do.
If you use Pro Keys 2 Hands, you a cheater, just saying
