Hi
(Not being an expert in drum terminology … forgive me…)
But I am charting a drum section on a song and I have three separate cymbal sounds in the chorus….
One is clearly the ride, the other the crash and the other a rather metallic ‘clanky’ sound ….
The ride I have on the blue, crash on green , (earlier I had the closed high hat on yellow…), so do I put Clanker on yellow too…?
It depends. HMX sometimes put two different cymbals on the same colour, sometimes even ones that are right after another (The last 2 minutes of Ghost of Perdition is a good recent example). But yellows tend to be hi-hats for the most part. If there are no hi-hats nearby I say put it on yellow. If there are some nearby, put it on green with the other cymbal.
Ok mate, great. Thanks for the heads up
