Best kit for RB3?

So, my Rock Band 3 madcatz pro kit has been returned today. Had it about 3 months, and in that time, the bass pedal snapped (under the metal!), the red pad started to not register and the yellow and green cymbols split in several places.
I’m looking at getting another kit for around the £150 mark. Can anyone recommend anything?
Looking at the ION kit, but reviews seem a bit hit or miss, wondering if its worth getting a proper electric kit instead, but something bottom the range really as its only going to be used to RB.
So, hit me with suggestions!

Yes, it’s worth it – but it’s far from £150.
Would something fairly budget, along the lines of this suffice?
Yes, but one caveat: most low-end kits have USB MIDI instead of the old school 5-pin DIN you’ll need to work with the MIDI Pro adapter.
That’s easily corrected if you have a PC handy and a $10 USB/MIDI adapter. You can run MIDI-OX on the PC and just feed everything coming in on USB out to the MIDI Pro adapter.
Obviously, that’s a bit more cumbersome to set up, but it is quite simple.
Yeah I saw that, presumably I’d need the PC to be next to the xbox in that case?
I do have an aging PC setup next to the xbox, so hopefully that would be up to the task.

Page 22 of the DTX400k manual shows USB only. Same issue.
The data rate of MIDI on the 5-pin DIN is a lowly 31.25 KHz. Even a 386SX could keep up.
If you can find a DTXpress IV on craigslist or something like that for cheap, it works quite well for Rockband.
I have this set, and depending on where I’m playing, I use this.
I honestly prefer the Ion set for ease of use though.
I have the ion but quickly felt the need to upgrade the snare to a mesh pintech and the cymbals as well.
I use IONs since RB2 came out and it still works really well. I replaced the rubber with these http://www.amazon.ca/Pearl-MFH08-8-Inch … B0002EKADG when the rubber started to not register which wasn’t for a long time actually. But it depends on how hard you hit it, really. There are tutorials on youtube on how to replace the rubber heads with the mesh heads.

With the negligible difference in price between and 386SX and a 386DX, I would say go with the DX.

It sounds more intimidating than I imagine it really is. Especially with the code (sketch as he refers) already done.
There is also a pre-made version via Kenton
