Here it is, part one of the Boston Project! It’s just one song for now but plenty more are on the way. “Let Me Take You Home Tonight” is the only song on the self-titled album not released by Harmonix leaving it incomplete…until now. I’d say it’s one of the most fun songs but honestly there’s not a single song on that album less than amazing. I had originally intended to release this a few days after the death of drummer Sib Hastian but that didn’t end up happening. Regardless I’d like to release this song in his honor.

    Collaborators:

    DemonUnicorns – Drums

    Ultimate_MANG0 – Venue

Much thanks to DemonUnicorns and Ultimate_MANG0 for providing drums and an awesome venue! Stay tuned for part 2…should be quite a Journey…

    Awesome!

Checking to see if my insurance will cover when I blow out a vocal chord trying to hit those Brad Delp notes at the end…

    Chester Bennington 1976-2017

Small tribute to an incredibly talented singer. I didn’t really get into Linkin Park until A Thousand Suns. Of course I heard plenty of their stuff before then but I was absolutely enthralled by the musical genius that A Thousand Suns had. Since then I’ve explored their discography a bit and found plenty of other songs I enjoy.

“Leave Out All the Rest” is probably the best song to epitomize Chester Bennington’s life from his history with drug abuse which he overcame. I have a personal history with this song due to a particular girl who has a place in my heart. As does the song.

When I heard Weiland was fired I felt pretty upset because I thought STP was done but then I heard Bennington was joining them. While I was initially cautious with the conflict of Bennington’s vocal style and STP’s grunge sound after hearing the High Rise EP I was pleasantly surprised. It was a good EP overall and I plan on doing more from it.

“Open Your Eyes” was released on Eyes Open among “Shut Your Eyes” and “Hands Open”…there’s a running theme here somewhere. Not much to say about this one. Very emotional. Very repetitive. Wasn’t that big of a hit.

“Bust a Move” was a staple hip-hop song of the late 80s, winning the 1990 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance. The song stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 for 39 weeks, 20 of those in the top 40 alone. Would you believe me if I told you that really fun bass line was played by none other than Flea himself?

Just another day of C3thon and another custom for you guys. Here it is, the first single off their arguably most successful album, Dizzy Up the Girl. The song reached number one on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart, the Modern Rock Tracks chart and the Mainstream Top 40 chart, and number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

    Hello all,

As C3thon concluded I released four tracks from three groups in two releases. I present to you Paul Simon, the famous Simon & Garfunkle duo, and The Dream Academy!

There are a plethora of hits by Simon & Garfunkel along with their solo work but so few of them have made it into Rock Band. As a partial remedy here are three of their most well-known songs.

Me and Julio is short but vocals give quite a workout and guitar is no pushover either. Of course there’s the neverending question: what was it that the protagonist did that was against the law? Apparently Simon himself doesn’t know and just, “assumed it was something sexual.”

    Collaborators:

    Spindoctor – Setup
    naginalJJ – Lyrics

As they say, fourth time’s a charm and Mrs. Robinson, being the fourth single released, rocketed Bookends into one of Simon & Garfunkel’s best-selling albums of all time. It hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the first rock song to receive a Grammy Award for “Record of the Year”. Didn’t hurt that it was included in the popular romantic comedy-drama The Graduate either.

    Collaborators:

    Spindoctor – Setup

    maotico – Vocals

    naginalJJ – Lyrics

    nsw1-6 – Partial reductions

The Boxer. Arguably Simon & Garfunkel’s biggest hit and one of the most influential songs in history. Strangely it never actually topped the charts, only managing to reach number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Turns out the iconic “lie la lie” parts were actually originally placeholders but ended up remaining in the final cut.

Special thanks to wingsoveramerica for providing me with 4ch audio which helped the charting process immensely!

“Life In a Northern Town” is one of those “oh, that song” moments. It’s the only song from the band to reach the top 10 on the US Billboard Chart. Regardless it’s an integral song from the soft rock/new wave sound of the 80s and makes for a good winter theme.

That’s so weird…95.7 FM in Philadelphia has been playing “Life in a Northern Town” regularly for the past month or so (and I’ve never heard them play it before in 10 prior years of every day listening), and I wasn’t quite sure why.

Clearly, somebody who programs there plays Rock Band customs.
