Hey! I’ll do another livestream on REAPER tomorrow (around the same time as before: 9 P.M. GMT+1 (3 P.M. EST)). I did one two weeks ago where I charted a song from start to finish (it was Arming Eritrea by Future of the Left, you can watch the archived stream here).
I intend to do the same tomorrow, so here’s a poll to see which song I should chart on stream this time!
Old post here:
I’ll be doing an authoring livestream this Saturday at 9 P.M. GMT+1 (3 P.M. EST). I’ll explain how to tempo map, chart a song on drums and other stuff based on what people want to see; and I’ll answer to eventual questions as well (in French and English, mostly in the chat).
I plan on preparing multiple projects in advance to show a bit of everything: the very start of a custom+tempo mapping, another for compiling, charting…
It’s gonna happen here and I’ll post in this thread again when the stream starts. If you’re interested, please let me know what you would like to see (converting a song charting on EOF? charts reviewing and feedback? My method for authoring vocals?). ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />

This sounds awesome. I would really like to learn how to chart songs for the Drums. You have 3 PM EST. I’m in central usa time zone .
I assume that would be 2 pm Sat. afternoon my time ?
Until then. Can you please send me a list of programs & plugins & what versions, I will need to install so I can have all the tools ready for your live-stream.
Thank you in advance. I’ll be watching Saturday ! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

March 11, 2016 at 11:30 pm #465106Probably gonna start the stream a little later tomorrow evening (9.30, 10 P.M. local time?) as it turns out I have plans with my family.

Hi,
Cool!
Note that my livestream alone might not be enough to learn how to chart from scratch, it’s more towarded to people who already have basic knowledge of the authoring process.
Make sure to check out the authoring docs and tutorials.I assume that would be 2 pm Sat. afternoon my time ?
I have no idea to be honest, I just used this website. But it seems correct, though I’ll start the stream a little later as I said above.

You can find everything you need in this thread
- Reaper 4.22, 32-bit version
For authoring, placing the notes. - Python 2.x, to make CAT work
- Everything else listed in the thread I linked: CAT, RBN tools, Custom Tools, W1 Limiter…
- Magma: C3 Roks Edition, which will be used to compile your custom and make it into RB3 format.
- C3 CON Tools, for plenty of reasons, like visualizing/MIDI cleaning… especially if you’re going to convert songs from FretsOnFire/Phase Shift.
On my smartphone (Android), I use:
- Fine Chromatic Tuner
- BPM Counter
OK, I’m putting this on my schedule on Saturday. I would love to learn how to chart vocals.
Cool, see you there! Note that my method is pretty wonky though, it works best if the vocals are isolated (stems) or if there is nothing much going on at the same time (a distinctive note on the guitar at the same time, for instance…).
