A song I’m currently working on has thrown a couple of curve-balls at me. I have a one syllable vocal note that stretches over two pitches, then pauses, then continues with two more pitches. I know you add a “+” to continue a word, but if I add another “+” after the pause, won’t the game act like the note was continuous?
Also, what is the best practice with charting a melody being hummed? Right now I have one phrase with each note labelled like so:
“Hmm” “hmm” “hmm” “hmm” “hmm”

“Sometimes a singer will break up vowel sounds with a glottal stop. Use hyphens to add each extra syllable created in this way. Here’s an example from Blur’s “Song 2”: “but nothing i-is”.
The logic is the same.
Humming depends on the sound, both Hmm and Mmm are accepted.
Thanks for the help!
