August DLC Artists Announced

And of course this week’s reveals have already been revealed. The bands and the latest songs are:
The Barbazons
Belinda Carlisle
Counting Crows (“Mr. Jones” releasing this week)
Heart
Jason Mraz
Nicki Minaj
Robin Thicke featuring Pharrell (“Blurred Lines” releasing this week)
Tonic
Vertical Horizon

My Billy Joel customs survived last month. I wonder if my Heart custom will be so lucky this month? “Barracuda” and RB4’s on-disc “Kick It Out” come from the band’s Sony-controlled catalog, and I’m inclined to believe the next track will come from there as well. Maybe “Even It Up” or “Straight On”. However, Harmonix proved with “Alone” that they can tap the EMI-controlled catalog too. That means all the big hits from the self-titled album are definitely contenders, and that includes “What about Love”. Of course a pull from the EMI pool would also mean “Magic Man” and “Crazy on You” are possibilities, and I imagine those two are highest on everyone’s Heart wish list.
I’m also guessing “Mad about You” for the Belinda Carlisle track, and all signs point to “Seventeen” for the Winger track. The others, I have no horse in those races.
My predictions are:
Jason Mraz – I’m Yours (only song I really know by him)
Nicki Minaj – Starships (The only one song by her [to my knowledge] that has guitar)Tonic – If You Could Only See (they did it in Band Hero before so probably it will be in RB4)

I’m hoping for Heart “Crazy On You”. Still love the GH2 cover version as I helped bring that to full band. “Magic Man” would be my second want.
I would be shocked if the Winger pick wasn’t “Seventeen”. “Heaven on Earth” for Belinda Carlisle it better be.

I was thinking of making a request for Heart – Straight On or Magic Man, but figured we’d do both of those somewhere down the line. Here’s hoping neither of those get picked up.

Have a drums, bass, guitar version all ready but never released it because I kept sitting on doing the vocals. I’m glad I did nothing now that its most likely coming out officially.

Yes, that’s just what Rock Band needs. More Metallica. Let’s add more Disturbed and A7X while we’re at it.

I just like the fact that “Mr. Jones” is officially out now, every now and then there’s a decent song like that coming out for RB4, but nothing too grand.
Harmonix promises to announce all of August’s DLC tracks if their NASCAR driver places #5 or higher in the Zippo 200 at the Glen this Saturday.

In other news, Harmonix has apparently teamed with GameStop to sponsor a NASCAR driver.
