So I have several custom I plan on uploading soon, but I’m having trouble with a couple of them, specifically the audio. My process is the same i’ve used on 4 customs before it, and they all worked flawlessly.
Render audio in Reaper (44100 hz stereo .wav, 16 bit)
Plug in audio file names in magma
Build .rba
Convert to .con
However when I load the .con in game or in the con-tools visualizer, the audio is mono instead of stereo, and I can hear static, ticking, or even sounds from the midi. I can’t really tell what it is. Has anyone had trouble with this? I’ve tried for several days to fix this but can’t find the problem. Thanks! I’d love to finish and post these for everyone!
April 16, 2015 at 11:16 am #442958Sounds from the MIDI come from having a MIDI output plug-in activated when rendering. Distortion comes from single instrument charts: use a mute crowd track to avoid it.
April 16, 2015 at 11:29 am #442959That audio corruption is a well-known bug with MagmaCompiler. Any recent version of Magma C3 should pick up on that and inform you that it may happen and how to prevent it.
You also don’t need to be converting RBA to CON since Magma C3 does that for you.
So, it begs the question, which version of Magma are you using?

I’ve apparently been using Magma v2. I’m not sure why or how that happened, but I’ll go try the newest version and report back.
April 16, 2015 at 6:11 pm #442995I downloaded and tried Magma C3, and it fixed half of the problem. I created a new magma project file and tried several different audio quality settings (5-10). The audio is now in stereo instead of mono, but the clicking noises are still there and the audio is still low quality. I don’t get any error messages when I compile.

I did and that did the trick. I think I may have misunderstood your suggestion at first. Thanks! I really appreciate the quick help. I’ve got 9 songs from Zep, Dream Theater, Satch and others I’ll upload as soon as they’re done.
