Hello everyone,
I’m atfpmb and I have dabbled in customs for about 3-4 years now. I was with an authoring company for the past 2.5 years, but since the RBN kind of ran dry I decided to join C3.
Since I was with an authoring company I have many RBA files that were ready to release that will most likely never see the light of day. I am posting a list here. All these have multitracks, but I don’t need to release them that way in case bands/labels get angry about that sort of thing.
The list:
Anarchy Club:
(The version I have has an added guitar solo)
Ascension:
,
Blood on the Dance Floor:
Death of the Cool: Cuts Like a Knife (No link to music, sorry)
Fail Emotions:
,
,
,
Left Spine Down:
,
Mors Principium Est:
,
Nya: Driving the Nails In (preview available on iTunes),
POM:
Rishloo:
If anyone is interested in any of these tracks, please let me know which ones and in what format I should release them (multitrack, or the “custom” way) and I can upload them here.

September 15, 2013 at 4:05 am #406237As a current member of the authoring group these songs are from, I’d advise NOT to do this. If the RBN were to pick up again somehow, that would mean people would have no incentive to buy these songs if they’re available for free, except maybe online play. Also, if Harmonix or the labels were to find this site, you better believe they’d raise holy hell because of contract breach. And if you decide you must do this, I’d advise not using the multitracks, since those would be a big-time legal no-no.
September 15, 2013 at 4:16 am #406239Yeah, this is not a thing we do. Even ignoring the stems vs. stereo thing (which totally COULD get the authoring company in trouble), it’s taking others’ work. We hand-wave that for things like modifying X-only customs from the community spreadsheet, but in this situation it’s definitely not OK.
If you get the sign-off from the company and every author who worked on the songs in question to release these as non-multitracked customs, we’ll revisit this topic. In the meantime, we encourage you to author and release your own stuff. We’ll be here to help!
September 15, 2013 at 11:32 am #406251Late to the party, but I guess I was under the impression that these were unreleased RBN tracks you had authored. If we had author consent on them, I would personally entertain releasing them as stereo/MP3-versions of tracks, though even then I’d rather sit on the pool until the network was toast (especially if some of these were projects that just fell to the side and not things that are never going to happen).
I know our whole shtick is of extremely dubious legality but taking action with these tracks, based on the commentary of this thread, has potential legal implications that reach beyond the scope of an individual author and/or C3, in that they can extend back to the authoring company, the involved author(s) from that company, and potentially even Harmonix. That’s where the problem lies.
