I found this software that allegedly lets you separate instruments in audio tracks. I watched the demo on the home page, and it looked pretty easy, but I haven’t downloaded and tried it yet.
It’s also free and open-source, so we could work it into a C3 tool if someone wants to. I’m just interested to see if it’s possible to make multitracks with this.
Yeah, Nyx had a crack at it, really subpar even for tools that by definition do a poor job anyway. Separating instruments is a very laborious process, only works if the song has been recorded in a certain way and it’s not something you can achieve without spending a silly amount of time on it.
