I seem to remember it being briefly discussed in the docs, but I can’t seem to find it. Just wondering if it’s possible to make minor adjustments to a tempo map whilst I’m charting it. It’s a 16 minute long track and it seems like such a waste to have to start all over again for a handful of notes being a few milliseconds off.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Why not? Change/add/delete any tempo map marker you want. Just make sure vocals are tweaked, because those will suffer the most when you change the tempo map.
Damn, it’s that easy, huh?
For some reason I had it in my head that the entire thing would collapse from that point onward. Could have saved myself a few hours there.
Cheers Farottone!

Well, if you change time signatures it’s another matter, most of the times you will have to redo the markers from the point you change on. But those are not “minor adjustments” so I ruled them out when replying. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
Yes, what Far said. Just changing the general tempo markers won’t have too much effect (outside of vocals, which would always be double checked and readjusted after tampering with a map).
Doing something like doubling or halving the tempo will mean you have to adjust all your charts accordingly.
Time signatures are what will cause you problems. Usually, changing the time signature after charting will cause measure eating for less skilled charters, and then you have the issue of moving notes in time signatures which can get offset.
Generally, it’s not bad to adjust tempo, just make sure everything lines up back afterwards, and check vocals. Everything else should* be fine.
