RB3 obviously. I noticed today that when I tried to add a 3rd controller to my game, it would not let the player connect without bringing up the All Instruments Mode menu. I had: Keys on slot 1 and Guitar on slot 4 and it was fine, but I turned on my 2nd Guitar to play Bass but it wouldn’t let the 3rd controller drop in during the song. I backed out to my library and reconnected my 2nd guitar only to discover that I had to turn on AIM to play Keys, Guitar, and Bass. Why is this happening? I’m not exceeding the 4 player limit without using AIM, so I don’t understand. I don’t have any Xbox controllers turned on or wired controllers plugged in either. Does all instruments mode need to be on when keys is thrown into the mix with 3 or more players? What gives?

You can only have two at time between bass, guitar and keys, or you need AIM enabled. So you can have guitar, keys, drums, and vocals, and you don’t need AIM, or bass, keys, drums and vocals, or guitar, bass, drums and vocals. But to mix guitar, bass, and keys, you need AIM. That’s how the game was designed.
Interesting, I never knew that. I wonder if that’s a technical limitation or they just chose to do it like that. Thanks Nemo, I appreciate it
