If you want to know why you shouldn’t dismiss this band as Creed 2, just listen to this song. It sounds nothing like anything Creed ever did. Tremonti practically shreds throughout, and he has another very good solo. The opening tom pattern is very good on the drums. Vocalist Myles Kennedy’s singing is also very superb.
LATEST UPDATE 10/3 METAL MONTH DAY #3 Black Sabbath – Electric Funeral

Electric Funeral features an iconic Tony Iommi riff which has a heavy wah-effect, the band goes for a simple sound, but a sound which they certainly make sound quite dark and heavy. The song changes its mood completely half way through and the heavy wah-wah riff gives way to a frantic drum rhythm followed by a stream of darker guitar chords which ultimately culminates in a musical detonation.
Now we just need the album version of War Pigs and Planet Caravan and we’ll have a full Sabbath album.

“Staring Through the Eyes of the Dead” is a solid tune which exhibits the guitars’ flair for wavering patterns that create a tremolo-like effect. It’s easily the best song on their 1994 classic album “The Bleeding”. Some nice riffs and nice bass playing. The lyrics are about a man who is legally dead, but can still feel and see…. and the coroners are starting the autopsy. Awesome stuff, he sings that they continue cutting him until they see his tears coming from his dead eyes. This is a Cannibal Corpse classic.

In the opening of “Territory,” Igor Cavalera’s drumming pushes Sepultura into a torrent of thrash before he slows the tempo with a pulverizing tom groove. While Kisser and bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. trudge through mud, Max Cavalera screams about racist politicians and the plague-like effects of hate and discrimination. Although the song’s video deals with Israeli violence against the Lebanese and Palestinians, “Territory” pertains to every situation in which a government uses xenophobia to justify cruelty. After an earthquake breakdown that will force you to smash something, Cavalera barks, “Dumb asshole’s speech… / Racist human being.”
