February 17, 2017 at 4:33 pm #481566LATEST UPDATE 2/17 Frank Zappa – Who Needs the Peace Corps
GUITAR/BASS: nsw1-6
How can you become a hippie, fashion-wise? That’s the subject of “Who Needs the Peace Corps?,” a ferocious attack on hippiedom, and all those wannabes trying to be hippies on the outside without even attempting to understand the social reflection behind the concept. Released on the 1968 LP We’re Only in It for the Money, the song tried to stab the whole hippie movement as “psychedelic dungeons [were] popping out on every street.” Backed by a rolling beat, the song included a monologue where an aspiring hippie explains what he will do to reach his goal: buy some beads, find a rock group, and become their manager.February 18, 2017 at 5:41 pm #481605LATEST UPDATE 2/18 Emerson, Lake & Palmer – Karn Evil 9: 1st Impression
GUITAR: nsw1-6
PRO/5 LANE KEYS, BASS: MrBurplerThe link below combines the bass and guitar parts since guitar is only used for solos and so that the keys player shows up if you want that.“Karn Evil 9” consists of three movements (called “impressions”) with the first impression divided into two parts. The work’s most recognizable portion to many is First Impression Part 2 and its introduction (“Welcome back, my friends / To the show that never ends”), which eventually became the title of their second live album. It is often used as a song dedicated to the opening of sports seasons. First Impression Part 2 is also a common radio staple, although it opens with the intro line and can leave casual radio listeners a bit surprised, not necessarily knowing what led up to that point from Part 1 (the common problem being that combined, First Impression lasts over 13 minutes, and hence would not be well accessible on radio played with Parts 1 and 2 together due to its length, so the shorter Part 2 is just played by itself instead).February 18, 2017 at 7:02 pm #481608Aw yes.
February 18, 2017 at 8:09 pm #481615Here’s to hoping Palmer survives this year.
Thanks for Karn Evil 9!
February 18, 2017 at 11:28 pm #481622Shout out to MrBurpler for tackling the monster keys chart and remapping the whole thing to the 5.1 mix ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
February 19, 2017 at 1:13 am #481626Lol thank you. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> Just a quick note, as per most of my pro-keys stuff the pro-keys chart is expert only, eventually i’ll get around to doing reductions for all of my pro keys charts.
February 19, 2017 at 1:18 am #481628Also!…Special thanks to him for letting me work on the song with him. And there is plently more where that came from ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />

February 20, 2017 at 6:51 pm #481654February 21, 2017 at 1:40 pm #481680I finally got a chance to play Karn Evil 9. All I can say is fantastic job! This song deserves the full treatment and not just CAT reductions.
Also, a huge shout out to whomever did the venue! It is a thing of beauty. Thanks for taking on this monumental task!

If anyone wants to offer their reduction services I shant turn them down. Thanks for the venue props. I do them for all my full band releases so I’ve been waiting for some acknowledgement. The venue can take as long as charting all the instruments. Thank you ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
