Added play through video for Frank Zappa “A Token of My Extreme” courtesy of Sideshow.
August 30, 2016 at 10:36 pm #474266Just wanted to add my thanks for all the Zappa work you’re doing. Recently lost my Uncle, who (like me) was a big Zappa fan, so being able to perform these tracks is cathartic for me and my bandmates.

You’re welcome. Glad we could provide good vibes for you and your bandmates. Much more to come ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
September 3, 2016 at 8:47 pm #474421UPDATE 9/3 – Chicago 13/14 pack released!
Here is my pack for Chicago 13 and 14 released in 1979and 1980. Both were transitional albums that performed very poorly at the time leading to more line up changes on guitar and yet as always there was brilliant music to be found. Credits listed below. Also thanks to my friend Masayuki Funatsu for creating a great image for this pack and mb1nightmare for playtesting.
GUITAR: nsw1-6
5 LANE KEYS: Bansheeflyer
“Street Player” had previously been released by Rufus. It did eventually reach hit status, being sampled for both the 1995 hit “The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall into My Mind)” by The Bucketheads, the 2009 hit “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” by Pitbull and the 2013 remix by dance music producer “Tradelove”.
GUITAR: bsbloom
5 LANE KEYS: BansheeflyerLaudir DeOliveira (percussion) contributes the breezy, jazz-flavored “Life Is What It Is” featuring an equally liberating vocal from Peter Cetera.GUITAR: Mb1nightmare
5 LANE KEYS: Bansheeflyer
This frantic song written and sung by keyboardist Robert Lamm features a pair a blistering solos from new guitarist Chris Pinnick.
GUITAR: bsbloom
5 LANE KEYS: BansheeflyerWritten and sung by Peter Cetera “Mama Take” is very Beatlesque in sound.
GUITAR: DemonUnicorns
5 LANE KEYS: Bansheeflyer
The ragtime blues feel on Danny Seraphine’s “Aloha Mama” has some well-seasoned brass augmentation, proving that Chicago had not completely abandoned its roots or audience.
GUITAR: Mb1nightmare
5 LANE KEYS: BansheeflyerThis Robert Lamm tune was originally written and recorded during the session for Chicago X(1976). This version is much more hard rock oriented.
UPDATE 9/3 – Frank Zappa “King Kong” live
Featuring Terry Bozio on drums this live version of the original from Uncle Meat (1969) is an instrumental tour de force.September 3, 2016 at 9:15 pm #474426Woah, what a pack, excellent! Of course thrilled to play the new songs. Also, I’m kinda excited about the next release and especially one of the songs in there that will be particularly fun to sing with the boys…

thanks man. Chicago always had hits but the next 3 packs includes the ones even non fans know and will love to play with the whole gang. I’m glad I was able to introduce the lesser known greatness of their catalog.
September 4, 2016 at 7:06 pm #474470You sure did! The cool thing for me playing the tracks up to this point has been the huge variety and challenge that comes with that. It’s just magic sometimes. I sure will enjoy the rest of the tracks as well, nothing wrong with some hit factor once in a while ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
September 5, 2016 at 5:04 am #474509I played the whole pack this weekend and they were all great. Thank you.

my pleasure and fear not everyone. the next packs will come much quicker than these last few so be ready to go full 80’s cheese with a few surprises along the way ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
September 5, 2016 at 11:25 pm #474540Yeah man, thanks for these….
Lovin’ the Chicago and with the 80’s cheese coming up, I’m gonna hafta bust out some fresh fruit and cold white wine to go with it.
She likes it that way! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
September 9, 2016 at 5:06 pm #474689UPDATE 9/9 – Frank Zappa “Fifty-Fifty” full band & The Allman Brothers
GUITAR/BASS: nsw1-6
“Fifty-Fifty” is the only track from the successful 1973 LP Over-Nite Sensation that is largely forgotten nowadays and that it represents one of the very few recordings featuring Ricky Lancelotti’s distinctive vocals. NSW1-6 said the guitar solo was the hardest he’s ever charted and deserves a tripple devil tier rating. The other instruments aren’t much easier. Ralph Humphreys gives another stellar performance on drums.GUITAR/BASS/VOX: Sygenysis
The third song on The Allman Brothers Band’s eponymous debut album was written by Gregg Allman and is said to have been inspired by a former lover. It was cut August 5, 1969, and in spite of its tone, Allman not only survived this particular black-hearted woman but married and divorced no fewer than five times in the following two decades. It was the lone single issued from the album.September 9, 2016 at 5:14 pm #474690Added play through video for last weeks Chicago pack courtesy of Sideshow.
September 9, 2016 at 5:51 pm #474694I would like to add my “satisfaction guarantee” that the 50-50 guitar solo is 90~95% accurate for 5 color notes (Sue me if you think otherwise ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />). Of course, some indeterminable noises were axed and simplifications were made for playability (We know there was only one Frank Zappa)
September 9, 2016 at 11:49 pm #474702Thanks for more Zappa. And hoping for more Allman Brothers.
September 11, 2016 at 4:12 am #474765Thanks for more Zappa. And hoping for more Allman Brothers.
I have a few more Allman tunes planned. Hopefully they don’t take as long to full band as this one did ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
