Oh well. The cat’s out of the bag. I may as well just admit it.

      It’s true. I’m homophonic.

      Phew!

It feels good to get that off my chest.

      .

      Here’s your mnemonic device:

      • You have to reach to gain the peak.
      • If you peer at something, you are peeking.
      • And if you’re piqued about something, there’s usually a question in your mind about it.

Thanks for your very astute and knowledgable observation of my use of the word “peaked”. It was rather impressive and educational. Although in this sense, I believe I refered to “peak” as reaching the very top of my curiosity level regarding Zappa. Perhaps, I did not verbalize correctly. Anyhow, for the sake of not hijacking this thread and staying on topic, I will defer……and No, dammit, you can’t keep my shoes……you wouldn’t want ’em anyway Professor, they too damn funky! It’s all good!

Thanks AJFOne23 for indeed shining that beacon……so much music, so little time!

Yeah Banshee….. I’ve actually had a buddy blow milk out his nose and he had to go down on all fours from us bustin’ up so bad.

BTW……In case anybody even cares…….I came clean in General Discussion.

I don’t usually play grammar police, but I heard someone say ‘ashfault’ today, and that really pisses me off.

Don’t me started on “alot” and “could of/should of”.

I know that article’s at least partially satire but it’s still irritating when people criticize others over being “Grammar Nazis”.

God forbid we want our native language used correctly.

That’s what makes it ironic for me. English is not my language of origin. However, I do appreciate the perception of how “Proper English” should be used to accurately and precisely state one’s feelings. It was impressed upon us by our Dad to learn this language to the best of our ability, so my brother and I could assimilate in this society and not be mocked or humiliated by our inability to communicate with proper grammar, like my Mom and Dad endured. But like I said, it’s all good…… I’m glad to see Dash “got it off his chest” and I do see the humor in all this. I just think I irritate him a little (or a lot) with my mannerisms. He’s not the first, and he certainly won’t be the last!

UPDATE 8/12 – Frank Zappa “five-five-FIVE” full band

                      GUITAR: BearzUnlimited

                      BASS: nsw1-6

This blistering opening track from an album comprised entirely of guitar solos gets it’s name from the time signatures. (5/8 and 5/4). Drummer Vinnie Colaiuta tears it up all throughout.

This live version was used as the basic track for the album version with overdubs added on the One Size Fits All album but I prefer the rawness found on this track. Frank really shreds on the outro solo. Chester Thompson is interesting on drums throughout despite the mid tempo pace.

UPDATE 8/26 – Frank Zappa “A Token of my Extreme” full band

“A Token of My Extreme” is a song on the 1979 concept album Joe’s Garage. The main character from this triple-album rock-opera has his mind messed-up by Lucille then “finally does something smart” and “pays a lot of money to L. Ron Hoover and the First Church of Appliantology.”
Ike Willis and Frank share vocals and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta brings his frantic style to a laid back groove. This song derives from another piece called “Tush Tush Tush” from 1973.
