Hello,
I am not a drummer by trade, plastic or otherwise. So I am authoring a song that transitions from normal drums into conga drums. The tab I am using lists the following drum types for the conga section:
Mute Hi Conga
Open Hi Conga
Low Conga
Short Guiro
Long Guiro
Does anyone have any advice on how I should chart these? Like what colors I should assign them to?
Thanks.
Without knowing what song you’re doing, I’d probably use:
Open Hi Conga | Yellow Tom
Mute Hi Conga | Blue Tom
Short Guiro | Yellow Cymbal
Long Guiro | Blue Cymbal
Thanks Dash. I will see if that will work.

I really, really do appreciate that offer Dash. I often find myself charting a song and thinking, “man, this song would be perfect if only someone who was a genius at drums and vocals like Dash would take over those parts.”
But then I figure I’m asking too much and my followers will understand if I just put my usual disclaimer of my drums and vocals being written by an orangutan ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

By the way, NOBODY can tell how to author percussions without listening to the song. Not that Dash’s tip is wrong, it’s simply as good as it can be without listening to the song. If you don’t want to tell the public, message him on Slack directly. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
