I was just wondering if there is a fix if custom songs don’t show up? I’ve downloaded and added a couple hundred songs from here and only 3 aren’t showing up in my library. In game it says 803 of 806 songs the songs that aren’t showing are Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper, Mmmm Mmmm by Crash Test Dummies and i’m not sure what the 3rd one is. I tried deleting them out of USBtoRB3 and re adding them and they add perfectly fine but they just don’t show up in my library. Any help would be highly appreciated! Thank you.

Have you checked your 1-lighter filter? Make sure it’s set to “Show 1-lighter songs”. (Filters are accessed with select/back/minus button)

If they should show up and those songs are still not showing up, it might be an ID conflict.

So I’m the song library on rock band 3 and i’m in the options screen. I don’t see “Show 1-lighter songs” my screen looks like:

Yeah there’s no way to filter lighter ratings – only sort them.

I think it’s a song ID issue, but I remember reading a post which pertained more specifically to this problem, but can’t remember where – I’ll try to look for it.

In the meantime, if it is a song ID conflict then there are details on how to change song IDs all over the forums if you want to try it.

I’m not finding anything on how to change song id’s.

OK well first thing is getting the CONTools. They can be found here. They are a collection of homemade programs made to make the editing and sorting of Rock Band Song packages (CONs) easier, among other things.

Included in this set of tools is a “File Indexer”. This allows you to list and view attributes of song packages not normally visible in the windows explorer.

Basically, open the file indexer and use the folder options in the top right to direct it to your customs folder on your PC. If you have more than one customs folder, be sure to include them all.

Then, sort them by ID and have a look for matching values (99999999 is quite common.)

Sorry this guide wasn’t more comprehensive, I’m on mobile atm.

Also, like I say I have a feeling song ID is not the issue but have yet to find the post detailing the solution to a similar problem. Feel free to explore this potential solution in the meantime, it never hurts to double check. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Change song ID for those songs to make them show up, it’s a conflict with other songs.

Thanks a lot, I’ll give it a try!

Once you have identified which songs have conflicting IDs simply drag them into the CONTools and it will allow you to edit the ID

Do you know if CONTools is OSX compatible? I’m away from my computer for the evening and curious to hear what my options are, from the Mac side of things.

I’m trying to rebuild a nostalgic setlist of the available GH2 tracks, but for the life of me I cannot see Butthole Surfer’s Who Was In My Room Last Night? for the life of me.

I’ve been having the same problem. I changed the song ID, and it doesn’t conflict with anything else, but it still isn’t showing up. Any other ideas?

Using the quick dta editor, try changing the first line at the top of the text to the new song id as well. It might just make a difference.

hmm i did as you said sideshow, but not sure if i did it correctly..? now my game crashes when it loads the new DLC. if you’re referring to the line where it says songid under ‘DO NOT TOUCH MANUALLY’ it already has the new songid i put in for it with the editor. RBtoUSB shows that there are no current conflicts with the song (jesus christ, by brand new). there WAS a conflict with a queen song (good company), but i deleted it a while ago
