Oh look drummerockband is getting himself into some shit again!

But in all seriousness, I briefly discussed this in the Author chat on Skype, and pksage said just to make a post and then we can always come back to this once we want to do it. So yeah, this doesn’t need to be done right away.

If you know me, you know I love New Wave. I think with the addition of pro keys for Rock Band, Harmonix had missed out on a ton of great songs that would have been a blast to play. I’ve come up with a little list of my own that I think are pretty great New Wave songs. I’m sure I missed a few great ones by accident, but someone can always add it in. Anyway, here’s the list:

Everybody Have Fun Tonight – Wang Chung – ’86

One Night in Bangkok – Murray Head – ’84

    Lies – Thompson Twins – ’82

Puttin’ on the Ritz – Taco – ’83

You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) – Dead or Alive ’84

    Tarzan Boy – Baltimora – ’85

    Cruel Summer – Bananarama – ’83

Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go – Wham! – ’84

Break My Stride – Matthew Wilder – ’83

West End Girls – Pet Shop Boys – ’84

    It’s My Life – Talk Talk – ’83

Safety Dance – Men Without Hats – ’83

    I Got You – Split Enz – ’80

    Rock Me Amadeus – Falco – ’85

    The Reflex – Duran Duran – ’83

    Head Over Heels – The Go-Go’s – ’83

    New Sensation – INXS – ’88

    Little Girls – Oingo Boingo – ’81

I’d most definitely choose from this list. Especially Wang Chung and a few others <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />.

But yeah, we can just wipe this off to the side for now, since there’s a lot going on right now, but I thought I’d just get your attention.

I thought I remembered you saying that before. Any release date set for them? Or if this turns out to be a thing would you think about adding them here?

Due to the work I’m doing on that C3 side project I mentioned, and thanks to the great job our authors are doing at providing good content on a weekly basis, I’m not focusing on releasing a lot right now and I have no need to release any of my backlog at least until after the anniversary, so I can keep any New Wave songs for a specific pack, including more Culture Club I have already authored.

Space Age Love Song, Wishing (If I Had A Photograph of You) and (It’s Not Me) Talking by A Flock of Seagulls would have been awesome

Though perhaps we are going a bit overboard with collabs?

Little Girls by Oingo Boingo was one of the very first customs from years ago and still exists. I would go to Dead Man’s Party or Just Another Day.

Duran Duran already has plenty of tracks in RB, I would suggest more One-Hit-Wonders like Romeo Void – I Might Like You Better if we Slept Together or Bow Wow Wow – Do You Want to Hold Me (tough drums), or check out the Valley Girl Soundtrack for more ideas.

That’s why I said we can push it off to the side for now since there’s a lot going on and we’re all working on our own stuff. Maybe we can come back to it later if you guys want, but I just wanted to throw the idea in just in case anyone was interested.

Collaborations have a fine way taking care of themselves. If nobody is interested in something that’s pitched, that project just doesn’t start. If people are interested, the project goes on. With that said, we’re still talking not before after the anniversary, because until then we already have solid weeks.

Or if one person’s really into a given project they can get the minimum three songs done themselves, and then it’ll be there on the scheduler for other people to say “hey, yeah, that looks cool”.
