360 customs all choppy?

Every custom is choppy. It’s not unplayable but definitely affects the experience. Is it a common thing or is something wrong with my set up?. I have tried songs on USB and harddrive, also have update 4. Thanks in advanced.
Also box is old and kinda slow, may i.meed a new one?

Delete the cache on your xbox 360. Not the RB3 cache the actual 360 system cache.
To clear the system cache- Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
- Select Storage or Memory.
- Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller. …
- Select Clear System Cache.
- When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.
