When I load up the game and all the songs load, at the top of the screen it says “Viewing 1102 out of 1127 Songs” while I have NO filters on. When I filter by song source, the only source that is short is “Rock Band Network”. Where it shows I have 252 songs, when I select it the top of the screen says “Viewing 227 out of 1127 Songs”.
Where are the missing 25 songs? Why can’t I see them if the game knows they’re there?
Out of those 252 RBN songs, only 6 of them were DL’ed from the actual Rock Band Network and those 6 are there, so the problem lies with 25 customs. I deleted and replaced all the songs, with the same result. I changed the USB, also with the same result. I have not yet gone through them all by hand to see which songs are missing. When I do, I will update.
Anyone else have this problem? Any clue what might be going on? I noticed it some time ago, but decided to try and figure it out today – with no luck.
March 16, 2014 at 9:38 pm #415657I’m pretty certain what this means is that you have conflicting songs in your library with the same ID. I discovered this when I downloaded several Tool customs from various authors who have the same song ID attached to them. I would browse your library on the dashboard and look for songs with the same name or duplicate customs and either delete the ones you dont want or change the song ID.
March 17, 2014 at 12:02 am #415665Thanks for the advice, Sideshow. I started from scratch reorganizing and batch renaming (great program) everything on my PC. I found a couple of dupes. Some may have been in the packs I made. I reloaded everything back onto the USB and and RB3 now says viewing 1133 of 1133.
Which is great, but still leaves me with a question: I put 303 songs onto the USB but RB3 says I have 258 RBN songs. Are some under the guise of DLC?
March 17, 2014 at 12:04 am #415666That depends on what format the files are. If they are “true” customs they’ll be RBN1 or RBN2. If they’re, uh, not so true customs and more other stuff, then it might show up under games. What you can do with Batch Renamer to try to find out is set it to sort the files. That might help you find which ones don’t report as RBN files.

Can I safely assume the the ghtorb3 songs might be the ones showing up under “Downloads” in the game instead of “RBN”?
March 29, 2014 at 2:37 am #416533I had the same thing a long time ago…what I found was happening on mine that you may need to check into is old DLC you may have purchased from Harmonix that goes missing using TU4 because of you not being considered online (TU5 allowed them to keep showing, but if you stayed on TU4 for customs, and they were classed as Marketplace Content in your drive, they’d go missing). If you have any on there you haven’t re-done or re-downloaded as con files, the game will see them as being on the HDD and count them in the counter, but you’ll never see them show up in the list.
I fixed all of mine by exporting mine onto my PC, then RB3con-ing them (back then) and deleting the “purchased” versions.
Not sure if that’s it for you, but it’s one way it can happen.
