Reply To: [How-To] Playing Customs on Wii
You need to install the wad file for the generation you are using to unlock it. You already have a wad installer provided with the tools you used to mod your wii; you can use that.
Could you elaborate with more specific details? I placed the sZGE.wad file Stack linked to into the wad directory of my SD card. I used WiiMod v3.2 to attempt to install it and the following happened:
Opening “sZGE.wad”, please wait… OK!
Installing WAD, please wait…
>> Reading WAD data…
>> Installing ticket…
>> Installing title…
>> Installing content #-1…Error: (-1022) Content did not match hash in TMD. Try with AHBPROT mode or an IOS with the correct permissions.
Press any key to continue.
That error is familiar… I remember seeing it in the hundred+ pages of this thread. I’ll have to search that.
I didn’t do anything with a ticket or a title, so… perhaps you can shed more light on that? I literally just slapped the linked-to WAD file into the directory and gave it a whirl.
Next, I hit “Change IOS” from WiiMod. The default was 236, apparently. I selected 249 and it displayed AHBPROT as enabled, but I received the same error when I tried installing the WAD again.
I feel like this is a fruitful conversation, in a way, because these steps will end up much more detailed and fool-proof and can be placed in the original post to help others!
[edit]
Apparently this error message 1022 means I did it right? Well, apparently not…
Now I’m getting a different error. “Add-on content is corrupted and cannot be read from the SD card.”
But I was able to load a song from my downloaded DLC and play it, and I can still access the music store. I decided to delete MSTORE.VFF to refresh the cache. No change, no luck.
“Loading new downloaded content…” 261 songs in 10 minutes, but my library of 343 songs does not have the 2 custom additions in it.
Very oddly, the four .BIN files for the two custom songs I moved into the newly created sZGE folder seem to have disappeared… did the Wii delete them!?
