Can’t edit song information

I followed every instruction and the customs work just fine with me. But sometimes I feel the need to change some information (like adding a rating for an unrated song, or change a genre). I use C3CON’s Quick DTA Editor tool, and at first it worked, but it stopped working after a while.
Not that there’s anything wrong with the tool – I make my edits and they stick when I double-check – , but the info I edit doesn’t show in the game. For example, on Never Miss a Beat, the year the author entered was wrong, so I changed to the right one. I added it in through RBtoUSB overwriting the old one, but the game still displays the year as 2016 instead of 2008. And when I check on the DTA Editor, my edit’s there.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Yeah, most of the data in the DTA file is cached upon load, stuff like this you need to either delete the songcache file or change the ID/file name.
