A huge Happy Birthday to the one & only Weird Al Yankovic! One of my favorite memories is watching MTV back in the mid 2000s & seeing his music videos for both White N Nerdy (which played a lot) & Close But No Cigar (one of, if not my favorite song of his). Straight Outta Lynwood was my exposure to his music but I found other wonderful songs by him. I Lost on Jeopardy played on VH1 in the mid 2000s when they would do flashbacks & Eat It as well. Weird Al is a wonderful person that quite frankly this newer generation doesnt deserve (just look at how well his newest album did). Happy Birthday Weird Al, stay weird!
Mom wasn’t supposed to turn 70.
I wasn’t supposed to turn 40.
Weird Al’s not supposed to turn 60!
WILL EVERYONE STOP GETTING SO DANGED OLD??
sigh… Happy birthday anyway, funny man. Just don’t go leaving us any time soon, okay?
My brother went to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo back when Weird Al was there (1979 I think). Al made his first song, My Balogna (My Sharona parody), in the mens room by the radio station on campus due to the better acoustics when he was playing his accordian. There is (was) a plaque above the bathroom door which said something to the effect of, This is where Al Yankovic recorded My Baloga.
My brother introduced me to him. I was 12 (I think) at the time. What a trip is was to meet that guy!
And a pinch to grow an inch!
He doesn’t look a day over 52!
