I see at least SOME use of this as introductions…

…so why not me too?
I just started posting in the customs db and here, and a lot of it has been questions. And I know online communities: the one thing they get too much of is people showing up, creating an account, and asking a couple questions, then never appearing again, let alone substantially contributing to the community.
Soooooo thought I’d personalize myself a bit.
I’ve been in a number of bands over the years, though arrangement and production are my forte. I’ve loved the GH and RB games over the years — especially/primarily Harmonix’s work because it’s evident how much care they put into their games (and we’re not even talking about the labor of love that was The Beatles: Rock Band).
I have worn many professional hats over the years, but I love to tinker with music and have been getting down and dirty with midi files and DAWs since the mid 1990s. So while there are some quirks I struggle with as a newb here, the principles hold strong. That said, as a Mac user with a Windows partition JUST FOR THESE TOOLS, I am also fairly naive when it comes to some of the conventions.
Musically I love classic rock, new wave, prog, post-punk, art rock, indie, evolved pop, psychedelia, shoe-gaze and really a lot more… but my tastes go to both the solid fundamentals AND to quirky. Which has me thinking a lot about under-represented or entirely absent artists around here: Eels, Elbow, Sparks, Love and Rockets, XTC, Pre-ambient Brian Eno, Roxy Music… I could go on for quite a while. I hope not to be a mere fly by night (get it?) presence (GET IT?) around here and be a real contributor to the community because I love the RB games (closest simulation to playing live I’ve come across, given the realities), enjoy taking music and pulling it apart before reassembling it, and… frankly… am comfortable in the kinda jank world of the MIDI standard. Seems like this is home.
Soooooo hi, then!
welcome aboard sailor!
Cut the chatter and get to chartin’!
Welcome abroad! You listed some awesome bands and I would love to have more of their customs in the DB!
Hello! Nice to meet you.
Thanks all!
Cut the chatter and get to chartin’!
As the late, great Marty DeBergi said: hey, that’s enough of my yappin’!
My first WIP is… well a WIP!
