Did anyone else know that the Force HOPO midi notes also work on 5-lane Keys?
I must have missed out on this, since I’ve never seen it mentioned in tutorials and it’s not included in the templates.
Good to know, anyways.
I didn’t think there were HOPOs on keys. I’ve never hammered-on or off on a keyboard before.
It’s for when a guitarist plays Keys and yes they do work.

Isn’t that on guitar then and not keys? I know they work on guitar when you indicate it. But there’s no HOPO when playing keys on a keyboard. They are just the note.

Or probably you’ve been hammering it all the time ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />

I think they meant the Keys chart itself. But yeah re-reading the OP it makes it sound like the keys instrument gets the HOPO

That’s what I’m getting at. I posted because I recently updated a song with Keys, and there is a section where the notes zigzag, but in the previewer showed up as normal notes. Since I dont chart nor play keys frequently, I’m not wholly familiar with its functioning.
…Though, come to think of it, perhaps its utility is just in Reaper, indeed.

When a person plays on keys, all notes will be the large rectangles regardless of notes being HOPO or not. When a person plays on guitar, notes will be HOPO if they are close to the note previous to it. One can force a note to be HOPO or not using a note in the midi. The same is true for a keys chart. If the person uses the guitar on a keys chart, the notes will be HOPO if they are close enough or if one forces it. While the template doesn’t show any HOPO notes (by default but you can change this) placing notes in the same pitch as HOPO on/off on guitar will make them behave as HOPOs or not if you use a guitar.
