I’ve been having trouble exporting my song in Magma with the bass chart. I imported the midi from EOF, since that’s where I was charting before (I switched to reaper to get pro keys). I had tap notes in my bass part, and I think that’s causing my export to fail. The MIDI tester says “ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (PART BASS): Cannot parse event 0xf0 at [4:4:000]”. I figured out it was because of the Sysex tags, so I removed them. However, the tester now outputs “INTERNAL ERROR: MIDI Compiler: Tick: 0. Got a text event, but had no current track to put it into! str = PART BASS, type = 1”. I don’t know how to fix this. Anyone know what’s up? The song works fine without the bass track.
When you author in EoF you have to save Rock Band files. I’m pretty sure you are saving Phase Shift files…. RB files should have the correct settings for ticks and stuff, and defenetly shouldn’t have sysex events that isn’t used in RB.
The simplest way to avoid having to hack at the MIDI file is to enable EOF’s “Save separate Rock Band files” import/export preference, then after saving the project, use notes_rbn.mid for Rock Band purposes.
Thanks! I definitely wasn’t doing that lol
